For Black History Month, Billboard is celebrating by highlighting some of the greatest Black executives in music and today we're celebrating Pharrell.

00:26 Pharrell has been a force in the music industry for decades.
00:30 He's also created magic behind the scenes
00:32 as a top producer working with music industry powerhouses
00:35 like Beyonce, Jay-Z, and Snoop Dogg.
00:38 He won his first Grammy in 2003 and hasn't looked back,
00:42 winning 13 Grammy awards since.
00:45 - You know, when something gets really, really, really big,
00:48 eventually it has to, if it won't explode,
00:51 it has to implode, something has to happen.
00:52 And when it does, something will emerge from the ashes.
00:55 - He's had tremendous success as the lead singer for N.E.R.D.
