00:56 Between 2019 and 2022,
00:59 there was a consistent rise in the reports of suspected child sexual exploitation materials online.
01:07 Alarmingly, 2021 saw the highest jump in these numbers,
01:12 from 21 million in 2020 to 29 million in 2021,
01:19 which can be attributed to the surge in internet usage during the onset of the pandemic.
01:25 According to the Department of Justice,
01:29 the most problematic is that for only P50,
01:31 there are materials of child abuse online.
01:36 It's like you're just transferring money for a massage or food.

02:26 According to the DOJ,
02:28 the number of ozaic cases in the Philippines has increased by 264% since the pandemic.
02:34 The youngest that we've encountered before when I was still in the DOJ was a 3-month-old baby.
02:39 The average of victims rescued is 4.
02:43 So they usually are rescued in groups.
02:47 Usually cousins, siblings.
02:50 It's sad to admit, but sometimes the perpetrators are even parents.
02:56 And what they say is that this is a source of poverty.
03:01 And secondly, there's no impact on the child because it's just pictures or videos.
03:09 We really need to educate not just the children but also the parents.
03:13 Various groups are doing programs for the children to avoid becoming victims
03:20 or to teach them how to report to the authorities.
03:23 If there are cases like this that are reported,
03:26 please do not believe us because these cases should not be believed unless the solution is given.
