Just a Minute: 10 Alabama players invited to NFL Combine

00:03 For Bama Central, I'm Joe Gaither and this is just a minute.

00:07 On Tuesday, February 13th, the next stage in the NFL draft is here.

00:12 Ten days ago, you had the Senior Bowl down in Mobile and

00:15 three Alabama football players participated in that,

00:18 with Justin Oboid, Chris Braswell, and Will Riker.

00:21 Today, on Tuesday, the NFL has extended invitations to this year's scouting

00:26 combine, this scouting combine will happen as always in Indianapolis.

00:30 And it will take place on Monday, February 26th,

00:33 and it'll go all the way through the following Monday, March 4th.

00:37 But the bulk of the combine will happen on Thursday, February 29th,

00:42 through the Sunday, March 3rd, with all the drills taking place.

00:46 Here are the ten Alabama players who have been invited to the combine

00:51 in Indianapolis, running back, Jace McClellan, wide receiver, Jermaine Merton.

00:56 Offensive lineman, JC Latham, defensive lineman, Justin Oboid,

01:00 linebackers, Chris Braswell and Dallas Turner.

01:02 Defensive backs, Terry and Arnold, Kool-Aid McKinstry and Jalen Key, and

01:07 special teamer, Will Riker.

01:09 Alabama is expected to have several first round draft picks with Kool-Aid McKinstry,

01:13 Dallas Turner, probably Terry and Arnold and JC Latham as well.

01:17 So the combine will be very, very important for players like Jermaine Merton,

01:21 Jace McClellan, and Jalen Key to impress scouts and

01:25 move up from the later rounds to the earlier rounds.

01:29 As we know, the drills are often deemed the underwear Olympics.

01:33 So the most important part of the scouting combine will be the meetings with

01:38 the players, with the programs, with the 32 NFL organizations.

01:42 Meeting one on one with the coaches and the general managers,

01:46 getting to know the players.

01:47 And then of course, probably the most important thing will be the medicals.

01:51 The players will be put underneath x-rays and give MRIs and

01:55 they will be seen by doctors.

01:57 And they'll go over all their medical files so

01:59 that the teams can make the most informed decision come this year's draft.

02:03 We'll see who gets drafted in the NFL.

02:06 This is just the next step as the NFL combine is coming up very,

02:10 very soon in Indianapolis.
