00:00 Well it's great to be here with the team at Wilson Homes Community Housing Limited.
00:05 Great to see tradies here, electricians, joiners, plumbers, carpenters. It's fantastic to be here.
00:12 It's about not only the job creation around that which is important but more crucially
00:17 it's great to see so many homes and such activity as part of our additional 10,000 homes,
00:24 new and affordable homes by 2032. I recognise that Tasmanians with respect to housing are doing it
00:32 tough, rents are still too high. We need to make it easier to access new homes and this is a great
00:39 way. We're achieving that, increasing that supply but also creating economic activity.
00:45 That jobs growth as well which is so essential when it comes to
00:50 additionally funding those essential services that I know Tasmanians all care about. Housing yes but
00:55 also health of course and our schools. We need to increase our capacity of our workforce and get our
01:02 trained tradies if you like out there into these work sites which is fantastic. So my expectation
01:10 is if we can deliver more than 10,000 homes by 2032 we absolutely will because of the great
01:15 partnerships between Housing Tasmania. We've got the Community Housing Limiters as an example,
01:20 Wilson Homes and many others that are supporting increasing supply when it comes to more homes
01:27 for Tasmanians.
01:28 you
