Michael Ihiekwe talks Sheffield Wednesday ahead of Millwall clash
Transcript
00:00 I think, like you said, it is a step up and we expected that at the start of the season.
00:06 I think it would be silly not to know that.
00:09 Obviously, we would have liked to have done better than we've done to this point,
00:12 but I think the step from League One to the Championship is always massive.
00:19 Even like you've seen on Tuesday night, the squad that teams like that have got,
00:22 it's always going to be difficult.
00:25 But, yeah, I think the lads expected the step up.
00:30 Hopefully, I mean, we wish we would have done a bit better, but yeah, I think we expected it.
00:36 As a player, you want to play at the highest level possible.
00:39 Like I said, obviously, we would have wanted to win more games.
00:42 You don't want to be losing games, no matter what league you're in.
00:45 But I think, you know, as a club, the club wants to be as high as possible
00:49 and all the players want to play at the best level they can as well.
00:53 So, yeah, I personally relish and I think the lads do as well.
00:58 I haven't always been in a team when he's been here and it'd be easy for me to say,
01:01 you know, he could do this better or that better,
01:04 but he's been brilliant even when I haven't been playing.
01:06 Obviously, I want to play every game, but he's been really good and,
01:11 you know, showed us all things we probably haven't seen in our careers.
01:15 Obviously, we've got an experienced group as well,
01:17 but there's things that we can still learn and that's what I mean,
01:20 where he energised us and gave us new ideas and stuff.
01:25 And then it's a balance, isn't it?
01:27 Learning new things, but also leaning on your experience to get results.
01:31 I think that's obviously we're at that point now and we need to really knuckle down
01:35 and have that as our main objective.
01:38 Obviously, we want to improve as players and as a team,
01:41 but we need the points at the end of the day.
