00:00 When you're younger, we're all like, you can't say no, no, no.
00:02 You're like, yes, yes, yes.
00:03 Take everything.
00:03 Take everything, right?
00:04 Criticism, rejection, whatever you take it.
00:06 But now, at present, we know how to filter.
00:09 Actually, now we're the most beautiful versions of ourselves.
00:12 Don't you feel like the ultimate woman right now?
00:15 I do.
00:15 Kamusta, PEP Stars?
00:27 Welcome to PEP Spotlight.
00:29 It's a trip down memory lane.
00:31 Because our guests today are three of the most sought-after TV and print commercial models
00:38 in the early years of 2000.
00:40 We are welcoming the new year with accomplished women in their respective fields of career.
00:45 We all have here,
00:47 Amanda Griffin-Jacob,
00:49 Kelly Misa Fernandez,
00:51 and Nicole Hernandez de Los Angeles.
00:54 Yay! Welcome to PEP Spotlight!
00:57 Welcome, girls!
00:59 Now that you're in your 40s,
01:01 what does it mean to be beautiful for you now,
01:05 knowing what you know already?
01:07 Just that self-acceptance.
01:10 You know, just being yourself.
01:12 You embrace that authenticity, that uniqueness,
01:15 and that's what makes you you and sets you apart from everybody else.
01:18 And once you realize that,
01:20 you'll accept whatever flaws you may have,
01:23 which I don't even see are flaws.
01:25 That's what makes me beautiful.
01:26 This is my unique badges that I have, you know?
01:30 You gain that inner confidence and you're like,
01:32 "You know what? I look good. I feel good. I'm beautiful."
01:36 Especially because of the industry that
01:38 we were in from such a young age where
01:41 you are just judged constantly on the way that you look and you have to be a certain size.
01:45 And then accepting yourself has been a long journey.
01:48 Like, I'm there, but I'm not all the way there, you know?
01:52 It's a work in progress because it's really hard to let go of
01:55 what people think of you when that's all you were being judged on for so long.
01:59 Have that confidence to be you and not apologize for it
02:04 and not try to conform to anyone else's.
02:07 But again, that's part of growing up and living life.
02:10 You know, I want to add also, because when you're younger,
02:12 we're all like, you can't say no, no, no.
02:14 You're like, yes, yes, yes. Take everything. Take everything, right?
02:16 Criticism, rejection, whatever you take it.
02:18 Now, I'd like to say that, you know, at our age,
02:21 not at our age, but now, at present,
02:25 we know how to filter, right?
02:27 Yeah.
02:27 We choose to filter.
02:28 Yeah.
02:28 We know what we want to accept, reject, or whatever,
02:33 and there's no pressure rejecting.
02:35 So I feel that it's like such a great thing for us.
02:38 You know, it's really simple, but we're in control of our lives.
02:44 Yeah.
02:45 And I know it's there, but sometimes you're not aware
02:49 that you are in control of your life.
02:51 Actually, now, we're the most beautiful versions of ourselves,
02:54 our life experiences, and just what we've been talking about just now.
02:59 Don't you feel like the ultimate woman right now?
03:01 I do.
03:02 And you can't be in this industry and not have insecurities.
03:08 It's just it is the nature of this industry.
03:10 Unfortunately, how amazing it is, how far this industry has come,
03:15 you know, because we were subjected to that when we were younger.
03:20 And as I was saying, you know, we actually had thick skin.
03:25 I think we really like and I think that also helped us get to this place.
03:30 Right.
03:31 Where we are all at now.
03:33 But I'm happy that this generation has, you know,
03:38 they have a beautiful, diverse, inclusive environment where everyone is seen.
03:44 There's not just one type of woman and that's it.
03:48 There's so many and everyone can feel accepted and beautiful.
03:53 Right now, at this day and age, it's all about beauty from the inside out,
03:57 not just like all the creams and all the things that you put in your skin,
04:01 because it really matters.
04:03 And I know when I forget to take my supplements,
04:07 my ultimate, when I forget the next day or a few days after,
04:12 like I feel like, OK, I need that boost.
04:15 And it really adds something, a little something to my beauty regimen
04:20 and to my confidence.
04:22 Like I see it like literally like from the inside out.
04:25 For us, for me before, 40s, 50s is old.
04:29 Like I couldn't imagine like, oh, my God, I'll never be that age.
04:32 But now that I'm here, I mean,
04:35 it's that old and there's still so many more years ahead.
04:39 And that's how I know how important it is to take care of your body
04:45 and of your skin, not just to look young.
04:47 Of course, we all want to look young, but to feel good, to feel good.
04:51 Like when you wake up in the morning, you don't have any aches and pains
04:54 and you don't feel like groggy and tired.
04:58 I think that's the ultimate goal, like waking up and feeling amazing.
05:02 That is the goal.
