Instant Analysis: Game 2 Alabama Baseball vs. Manhattan College
Transcript
00:00 Hi my name is Kim Rankin alongside Will Miller here at the Joe where the Alabama
00:04 baseball team won their series against Manhattan College winning game 2 15 to
00:09 nothing. Absolutely phenomenal on both sides of the ball. I know the pitching
00:13 looked really good. Riley Quick started for the Crimson Tide allowing five
00:17 strikeouts and also the bullpen as well did five strikeouts, ten in total and as
00:22 a whole only allowed one hit. Will what did you see from the bats today? The bats
00:26 were great. TJ McCants continues to just define getting on base. Six hits
00:31 combined between him and catcher Matt Bicetti which you always want to see
00:35 your backstop have a good day on offense because that's more or less just a bonus
00:38 but this early in the season one of the more experienced players start to pop
00:41 off offensively. It's gotta be a good look especially in the dugout because you know
00:46 the catcher's probably going to get a you know a fair amount of love from his
00:50 teammates for having that little extra spark in his bat. Mason Sweeney though
00:54 getting a start at second base. He did not go out first yesterday, did not get the
00:57 start. Bryce Evelin shifted over to third and Gage Miller moved to DH but Sweeney
01:01 led the charge with three runs scored. Rob Vaughn talked about it in the postgame
01:05 press conference. He's a guy that's cheered his teammates on, the leader in
01:08 the clubhouse so far and he was happy to see it but 15 runs in seven innings
01:13 that's that's the type of scoring output that on day two is very encouraging
01:17 regardless of who you play. The wheels fell off for Manhattan early. Their
01:21 pitching settled in yesterday. It didn't happen today but the offense had to
01:25 capitalize and that's what they did. Yeah I mean absolutely massive explosive bats
01:29 here today to take it to you talked about it how Rob Vaughn talked about a
01:32 lot of his hitters but specifically Mason Sweeney and how he looks very
01:36 impressive already for a sophomore so things are just looking good for this
01:39 Alabama baseball team early on so we'll see what they have to do. Thanks for
01:43 watching the instant analysis on Bama Central.
