Instant Analysis: Alabama Baseball Sweeps Manhattan College

00:00 Hi, I'm Kim Rankin alongside Will Miller here for Bama Central and what a weekend for Alabama
00:05 baseball. They won game three 11 to 8 against Manhattan College sweeping their opening series
00:10 weekend. Absolutely phenomenal. This was the second day that the bats were absolutely explosive.
00:15 One thing that I noticed yesterday and today was yesterday was a little small ball and today was
00:21 the complete opposite. We had five home runs from Gage Miller, Evan Sleight, TJ McCants,
00:26 Will Hutto and an inside the park home run. The first home run of the season also and inside the
00:31 park home run by freshman Justin LeBron. So absolutely phenomenal with the bats. Eight out
00:35 of the nine starters all got hits. It was just an absolute outing but I can't say too much about
00:40 the same for the pitchers. Will, what did you see from the from the pitching rotation today?
00:44 Well, Aiden Mosel was solid. There were some errors that that hurt him, had some control
00:49 problems, command issues. That can happen especially early in the season. It's his first
00:54 time throwing as a starting pitcher. He had strong innings last season out of the pen but it's a
00:59 different kind of thing when you get the ball first and you go out there particularly when
01:02 you're looking to clinch a series sweep. Guys that came in behind him, they did their best to clean
01:08 it up. It was a it was just a really feisty game from the Manhattan bats and I don't know how many
01:13 people expected it because they were they were so cold all weekend alongside the weather out here.
01:19 But I thought they were just really feisty. They scratched and clawed. They stayed in the game
01:24 and it's more to commend the offense. The pitching staff obviously not on its A-plus game but perhaps
01:30 the previous two games set a set a standard that was very high. Alton Davis came in, made a season
01:36 debut, very anticipated and he did a great job even though he took one off the leg. He says it'll be
01:41 fine so it doesn't seem like anything to worry about at this moment but wants to build off of
01:45 the pitching staff. You know, guys making their debuts. Aiden Mosel, weekend rotation for the
01:51 first time. That's a big step. So still a lot of room for development and we'll see where it goes
01:57 from here. Not a big turnaround. Two midweek games coming up and obviously not the you know the same
02:02 guys won't go out there but there's there's still lots of light like I've said on the past couple
02:06 of videos. Lots of potential here. Yeah, absolutely. I mean some mistakes today but overall a really
02:12 really good weekend for Alabama and now they're 3-0 in the season which is which is you know you
02:16 couldn't ask for more starting their season. So thanks for watching Instant Analysis here on Bama Central.
