00:02 Flood alerts are in place on a number of rivers across Derbyshire
00:06 with more heavy rain forecasts for today and tomorrow.
00:09 There are currently 16 flood alerts, which means that flooding is possible,
00:13 in place in and around Derbyshire. These include on the River Wye at Ashford and Bakewell,
00:19 where the alert says that the flooding of roads and farmland is possible,
00:22 with areas most at risk being low-lying agricultural lands and roads around Ashford and the Bakewell areas.
00:29 A similar alert is in place on the River Erewash, where flooding of roads and farmland is expected.
00:34 Areas most at risk are low-lying agricultural land and roads around Pinkston, including the
00:39 Pinkston Wharf Access Road, Langley Mill, Ilkeston, Stapleford and the recreation area at Sandiaca.
00:45 The Environment Agency expects river levels to remain high throughout today and into Thursday
00:51 and say that they are closely monitoring the situation.
00:54 Their advice is to avoid using low-lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan
00:59 driving routes to avoid low-lying roads near rivers which may become flooded.
01:03 11 Derbyshire employers have been named and shamed on the Government's latest list
01:09 of those failing to pay the minimum wage,
01:11 among more than 500 ordered to repay a combined £16 million to short-changed workers.
01:16 The Department of Business and Trade published a list yesterday, based on HMRC investigations,
01:22 in an effort to show that no employers are exempt from paying their workers the statutory minimum
01:26 wage. All have since paid what they owe to staff but face financial penalties of up to
01:31 200% of their underpayment.
