00:00 Good morning everybody, it's Steph at the Doncaster Free Press on Wednesday, February
00:04 21st. Just bringing you some of our favourite headlines this morning. My first one is a
00:11 story that I put out yesterday late on, a list of places to buy houses in Doncaster
00:18 the cheapest. There's a whole list in there if you're interested in moving or you just
00:23 want to have a nosey, see where the lowest priced properties are in the city. That's
00:30 quite an interesting read. Then we've got a couple of good pieces from Shannon, our
00:35 local democracy reporter again. Doncaster MP Nick Fletcher has lodged five days of claims
00:44 against our Mayor, Ros Jones, and her radical green agenda as it's called. Some of it's
00:55 been quite scathing, whichever side of the political party you're on, it does make for
01:01 a good read. But on the other side of the coin, we've got a piece from Ros Jones as
01:06 well. It's a Q&A following a Q&A that Shannon did with Mayor Oliver Coppard last week. She's
01:15 talked to Ros about investing in Doncaster and the future of the city, which is also
01:22 a really, really good read. And then finally, a nice story. We all know we're in a cost
01:28 of living crisis, times are tough for everybody, but a husband and wife team who run two fish
01:36 and chip mobile vans have been doing that bit recently over recent months and are continuing
01:41 to do so by using their mobile units and going out and feeding the homeless across the city.
01:47 They're doing another such stint this weekend, this Sunday if I remember rightly. Previously
01:53 they've given out fish and chips and sausage and chips. They're thinking about doing something
01:56 like a chilli or bolognese this time. They're also hoping to do it in March and in coming
02:01 months. They're doing that through a lot of donations from local businesses, family and
02:06 friends. It's a great thing to do and we applaud them for that. So if you can help them out
02:13 with any donations, I'm sure they'll be more than happy to receive them. But that story's
02:17 on there as well today. Obviously, everything that we do will be put out on social media
02:22 on Facebook or X, but obviously you can visit our website at www.doncasterfreepress.co.uk
02:30 everything else. Have a good day.
