00:00 EA Sports has now opened the door for all the college athletes who want to opt in to NCAA Football 2025.
00:08 I guess it's coming in June, July, somewhere around there, to get you ready for the new season.
00:12 Obviously, all the video gamers are really excited.
00:15 Michael, I haven't turned my PlayStation on in probably a year and a half or so.
00:21 Maybe not that long, maybe just a year.
00:23 But I might be purchasing NCAA 2025, especially if they end up with our friend Nick Saban on the cover, as they should, for at least an edition of the game.
00:34 But you're seeing... golly, I don't want to say it's one side of the political spectrum or not, but it seems like one side of the political spectrum.
00:42 Saying, "$600? That's not enough to be in the video game! $600? That's terrible value!"
00:50 And you say...
00:53 Yeah, it went up from $500, didn't it, if I'm not mistaken?
00:58 So, yeah, they came up an extra $100.
01:01 I've actually been playing the old NCAA 14 on the 360 a little bit.
01:06 As for whether the new game is going to require a new console or not, I won't be purchasing a new console.
01:13 So I might be, as they say, SOL on the new video game.
01:19 But all that being said, yeah, I can kind of see both sides of this one, I guess.
01:27 Because, in theory, the player's name, if it's a star player, is worth more than $600.
01:35 I get it, but how do you balance that?
01:38 Like, "Alright, Caleb Williams, you get a million. Meanwhile, Ty Simpson, you get $600."
01:42 It just doesn't work.
01:44 There's no snappers out there on the roster.
01:46 If this was five years ago, even, $600 would be the best thing ever.
01:53 Obviously, the NIL laws were what was keeping this game from existing for a while.
01:58 So, that's kind of a moot point.
02:01 But, yeah, if it was me, $600 is more than enough.
02:05 I would do it for free because I just want to be in the video game.
02:08 But I can understand the mindset of players that say, "Oh, only $600?"
02:13 I get it. I don't like it, but I at least get it.
02:16 I think there's a lot of players who that's going to be fine for.
02:19 Probably most players, that they just want to be in the game.
02:22 I mean...
02:24 I don't think the narrative is coming from the players.
02:27 I think most of the players are exactly like you're saying.
02:30 "Get me in the game, and I just want to play with myself and my buddies.
02:33 I want to just see these kinds of things."
