How important are the Alabama guards when it comes to rebounding?
Transcript
00:00 >> Look at the box score from the other night, you look at the rebounding
00:02 distribution between the front court and the back court, it seemed to be pretty even.
00:06 How has the evolution of the guards and embracing rebounding kind of come along
00:10 since moving into the lineup change and how has that led to success?
00:14 >> Yeah, I think you've seen Estrada push a triple double a few times this year.
00:20 I mean, he's, and she's offensive rebounding has really come on.
00:24 He's been a good defensive rebounder.
00:27 Our guards are more than capable, right, so he's had a double double.
00:31 Sears could easily get a double, shoot, Sears could get a triple double actually.
00:35 Like, I think Sears, Estrada, Wrights, O'Reillyn starting to rebound it better.
00:41 I think you see the more our guards rebounded, the quicker we can get out in
00:44 transition, so we keep making that point.
00:47 The better transition teams have guards that you take one step out of the training.
00:52 You don't have to get a defensive rebound and throw an outlet to a guard.
00:55 You just get the defensive rebound, you're out.
00:57 So in some of these really good offensive rebounding teams,
01:02 your bigs are kind of wrestling with the great rebounders at A&M and
01:07 Florida Head and then your guards.
01:10 You're gonna have to come in and get some defensive rebounds and
01:12 we've been doing a better job at.
01:14 Hopefully we continue to do a better job at and we need the whole team to rebound
01:19 well, but I think, like I said, sometimes your bigs in these games are fighting
01:25 a war in there and the guards need to come in and help them rebound a little bit.
