Luke Davies and Jesse Baird vanish, NSW Police officer charged with murder, now attention shifts to finding the couple’s bodies

Heartbroken friends and colleagues of Sydney couple Jesse Baird and Luke Davies are still searching for answers tonight. There is still no sign of their bodies a day after a NSW Police officer was arrested and charged with their murders. Pressure is mounting on police to review their gun safety protocols after police-issued firearm was allegedly used om the brutal killings.

00:18 but the search grinds to a halt.
00:21 Police have the alleged killer in custody, but can't find Jesse Baird and Luke Davies.
00:27 The grim weight turns to grief outside Mr Baird's home.

00:54 It was at Mr Baird's Paddington home that officers found a large volume of blood, as well as a bullet and casing.
01:00 Ballistic testing allegedly showed it came from a police-issued firearm.
01:05 On Friday, Constable Beau Lamar Condon, Mr Baird's former boyfriend, turned himself in.
01:11 He was charged, refused bail and spent the night at Silverwater Prison.
01:16 The weapon allegedly used was later found in a police-station gun safe, sparking major questions.
01:22 The police need to be 100% transparent on the timeline that surrounded the accessing of the weapon,
01:31 when it was accessed, how it was held and why checks were not put in place.
01:37 Officers found the couple's belongings and bloodied clothes dumped in a skip bin in Cronulla on Wednesday,
01:44 before the investigation led them to Balmain, Grays Point and Newcastle.
