00:00 and strangely enough these five crews have not yet raced together until this day at the head of the lake
00:05 so we've not had the full five crews in the same race before in season 23/24
00:10 which does make lining up the crews a bit tricky but it's certainly Ballarat Clarendon who leads
00:15 and I'm not sure if something happened there but I've had a break for a couple of strokes
00:19 I've dropped back from second to third and Ballarat High School in lane 5
00:23 which is the light of the blue shirt behind me in the commentary box
00:26 doing a pretty good job here and a good chance for second place certainly in this race for the Patterson Shield
00:32 but it's Ballarat Clarendon who lead now with about 150 metres to go
00:37 Ballarat High look to have the edge on the red-o in the race for second and third
00:41 and then we have Damascus and also Ballarat Grammar School, probably Ballarat Grammar 4th and Damascus 5th
00:47 but it's a pretty tight field and they're coming back to our race leaders from Ballarat Clarendon
00:52 but they're up on majority about 34th so they haven't moved the crews from Ballarat Clarendon
00:56 like watching Wink's way here just waiting for the right moment but with 80 metres to go
01:01 it's still Ballarat Clarendon clear with clear water on either, Loretto who's come back well now
01:06 and Ballarat High in third place, Ballarat Grammar still not far away as well with Damascus College here
01:11 but for the fourth year in a row the Patterson Shield is going to go the way on Ballarat Clarendon College
01:16 they come across and win the head and wake by two inks, Ballarat Clarendon
01:19 a strong win for them, ahead of Loretto Ballarat who has just edged out for second place, the crews from Ballarat High
01:25 Corky now in third, fourth will go to Ballarat Grammar and then fifth place there in the green boat
01:31 it will be the Damascus College combination completing the field only about seven or eight
01:35 links the whole field there in the Open Division 1 Female School Cox-Corbett Head and Wake title
01:41 and once again the Patterson Shield goes to the crew from Ballarat Clarendon College
01:47 who were able to get themselves in front in the middle stages and go on to win that race
01:52 by a link so Ballarat Clarendon win the head and wake for 2024
