00:00 Welcome to Mojo Plays and today we're taking a look at 20 PlayStation 2 games that had
00:10 the most fun and hilarious cheat codes to exploit.
00:20 Before we begin, we publish new videos all week long, so be sure to subscribe to Mojo
00:24 Plays and ring the bell to be notified about our latest videos.
00:29 Twisted Metal Black
00:35 Having a hard time plowing through every character's arcade mode?
00:39 Look, we get it, TMB's AI can be freaking ludicrous at times.
00:44 It feels like everyone is gunning for you and only you the majority of the match.
00:47 Well, if you just want to see every ending, TMB does boast a small assortment of fun cheats
00:54 that can turn every match into a joke.
00:57 You can turn all of your weapons into instant health or immediately upgrade to the mega
01:01 guns, but those not wanting to put up with the BS will activate God Mode without question.
01:07 TMB is great, but damn, do the other drivers really need to be this aggressive to the player?
01:19 Hitman 2 Silent Assassin
01:27 Hitman 2 really, really wants you to mess with its physics and weaponry.
01:32 It may not seem like it at first, given how serious the game generally is in tone.
01:36 Plus, the cheat codes for instant healing and skipping levels are the same kinds of
01:40 cheats you would expect from any other game from this era.
01:43 However, once you input the cheats for bomb mode, nail gun, slow mo, and zero gravity,
01:49 Hitman 2 quickly becomes an entirely different game.
01:52 Think you can take out your targets in this madness?
01:59 The Incredibles
02:05 We don't normally get to gush over the genuinely great Disney games, but when it came to cheat
02:10 codes, The Incredibles was a total power fantasy.
02:13 In addition to the typical refill health codes, the game came with a ton of passwords that
02:18 altered the way you play.
02:20 You had a code that doubles the game speed, a code that halves the game speed, one that
02:24 insta-kills everything on screen, and even one that temporarily grants you eye lasers.
02:30 There are even some dumb fun codes that can enlarge everyone's heads or cause your character
02:34 to leave a trail of fire in their wake.
02:43 The Sims 2
02:49 Sure you can play The Sims 2 legitimately if you want to.
02:52 By all means, play the game as you gradually upgrade your house, purchase new clothes,
02:56 drown Sims in your pool, and the whole nine yards.
02:59 But if you want a game where you can do anything you want, you most likely used the cheat codes.
03:04 There are cheats that will grant you an obscene amount of money, cheats that unlock all of
03:09 the recipes, clothes, and furniture, and even a cheat that lets you skip time.
03:14 With these at your disposal, The Sims 2 becomes a way more chill game than it already was.
03:22 Blood Rain 2
03:29 The first Blood Rain came with a hearty helping of cheats that let you go nuts.
03:34 There were codes for instant healing, level select, and of course god mode, but why are
03:38 we highlighting the second game over the first?
03:41 Well, there were way more codes that did cooler things.
03:45 One code could cause all enemies to freeze, another that wiped out all enemies on screen,
03:50 one that makes the dismemberment even more graphic, and even a code that unlocked a secret
03:55 difficulty.
03:57 Couple some of these with codes that gave unlimited rage, health, and ammo, and you
04:01 have the ultimate vampire power fantasy.
04:11 Cart Fury Championship Racing
04:13 Yes, we know this is an odd pick considering Cart Fury wasn't exactly one of the best
04:23 racing games you could nab for your Playstation 2.
04:25 However, the cheats for this game were out of pocket.
04:29 For example, one code will envelop the course in a thick fog, making it difficult to anticipate
04:34 turns properly.
04:36 Another two codes can cause cars to explode if they touch a wall or another car, but the
04:41 best one is low gravity.
04:43 Crash while this cheat is active, put on some lovely opera music, and witness the majesty
04:48 of your destruction.
04:54 Mercenaries - Playground of Destruction
04:57 Of course, you can play Mercenaries with the standard cheat codes.
05:05 You know, the ones that grant invincibility, a crap ton of money, and infinite ammo.
05:10 Thing is that Mercenaries was one of those games where the best cheat codes got you unlockable
05:14 characters.
05:15 Many of these simply allowed you to play as a different NPC, but two codes in particular
05:20 let you play as characters you would not expect to see in a game like this.
05:25 Seriously, how crazy is it that Indiana Jones and Han Solo are both in this game?
05:32 Makes sense though since LucasArts was the publisher, but still.
05:40 Midnight Club 2 - Midnight Club 3
05:47 Midnight Club 3 only has wacky cosmetic cheat codes, while the first game only has one code
05:52 that unlocks the buggy from Smuggler's Run.
05:55 Midnight Club 2, on the other hand, went nuts.
05:59 For starters, one code will give you all the nitro you need to bully your way to first
06:03 place, another makes your vehicle indestructible and prevents your character from bailing from
06:08 their motorcycle, and then there's a whole set of codes that alter the difficulty from
06:13 comically easy to ridiculously hard.
06:16 But the best code in the game grants you machine guns and rockets.
06:20 Now you own the streets, and no one will ever rob you of first place ever again.
06:36 Pirates - The Legend of Black Cat
06:47 We won't lie, Legend of Black Cat doesn't have anything as ridiculous as weapons in
06:51 a street racing game or giving you eye lasers.
06:54 Instead, there's entertainment to be had in simply making the game just a bit easier
06:58 for yourself.
06:59 You have a few codes that can give you invincibility, while others can give you fun costumes for
07:04 your character.
07:05 But if you're having trouble obtaining every chest key and finding every treasure, there
07:10 are codes that can give you all the keys you need and will mark your maps with green X's
07:14 to indicate where a treasure is buried.
07:23 Oni - The main attraction in Oni isn't exactly the cheat codes, really it's the combat.
07:28 Admittedly it will feel weird at first, but once you get a grasp on how it functions,
07:32 damn is it fun.
07:34 And Oni leans into the power of fantasy hard with the cheat codes.
07:38 We aren't just talking about invincibility either.
07:40 One code lets you knock down enemies in one hit, another takes it a step up and lets you
07:44 KO them in one hit.
07:46 But then you got some goofy codes that activate big heads, tiny bodies, and even let you change
07:51 characters on the fly.
07:53 Nothing too crazy, but still fun codes to mess with.
07:56 The Simpsons - Hit and Run When it comes to insane cheat codes that turn
08:05 games into a madhouse, Hit and Run is among the craziest.
08:09 You got a code that unlocks the speed cap, turning every car you drive into a rocket.
08:14 Then there's a code that causes your car to launch into the air whenever you blare
08:17 the horn, a code that causes every car you touch with your car to explode, and a code
08:22 that enables what we like to call Homer Mode, where the graphics get insanely blurry.
08:28 Just try to get through the whole game with all of these cheats enabled.
08:31 We dare you.
08:36 Guitar Hero - In all honesty, Guitar Hero has cheat codes
08:43 that aren't exactly cheats.
08:45 Sure, some of the games have an "unlock everything" code and a code that never lets
08:49 you fail a song, but for the most part, they're all cosmetic.
08:53 You can change the heads of the crowd to monkeys' eyeballs or spooky scary skeletons, and one
08:58 code even makes your guitar invisible so it looks like you're jamming out on a real
09:03 air guitar.
09:04 But one code you must absolutely try for yourself, at least in Guitar Hero 2, is Performance
09:09 Mode, which hides the track and forces you to play completely from memory.
09:19 Spider-Man - This game was already immensely fun to play normally.
09:27 What else could we use to make the game even more entertaining?
09:30 Well, entering the code "Dodge This" would trigger Matrix Mode, making everything move
09:35 in slow motion.
09:37 Spider-Bite will turn Pete into a tiny Spider-Man, but the big ticket codes were the ones that
09:42 changed your character.
09:43 Most codes unlocked simple NPCs.
09:46 However, everyone who looked up codes for this game immediately gravitated towards unlocking
09:51 Green Goblin, which was unfortunately locked behind beating the game normally.
09:55 But some copies even allowed you to play as MJ, unfortunately, that was removed from so
10:01 many reprints of the game that finding a copy that works with that code is now hard to find.
10:13 Lego Series - For the most part, the Lego games' cheat codes are used for unlocking
10:22 a ton of characters at the very start of the game.
10:24 Heck, some games even restrict you from totally unlocking the character and still make you
10:29 purchase them.
10:30 But the real joy comes from the sillier cheats.
10:33 They were just goofy cheats that did things you wouldn't expect, like turn lightsabers
10:37 into brooms or guns into teacups or give everyone and everything a Groucho Marx disguise.
10:43 All you really need from these games is lighthearted, goofy fun, and these codes certainly capitalize
10:48 on that side of Lego.
10:54 Tony Hawk's Pro Skater Series - When it came to cheat codes, these games spilled every
11:05 secret.
11:06 Imagine the awe and excitement on everyone's faces when reading you could unlock Darth
11:10 Maul and Wolverine in Pro Skater 3 or Jango Fett in Pro Skater 4.
11:15 You mean to tell us there are Star Wars and Marvel characters in our favorite skating
11:20 game?
11:21 I mean, who cares about maxing out my custom skater stats when I could be pulling off sick
11:25 tricks with a dual-bladed lightsaber or arm claws?
11:29 Unlocking all levels instantly when playing the guest character is all you could ask for.
11:39 Crazy Taxi - Whereas most of our entries keep unlockable characters, maps, and fun cosmetics
11:50 behind cheat codes, Crazy Taxi hides a whole other layer to its gameplay on the PS2 version.
11:56 On the surface, this port appears to be just that, a simple port of an arcade classic.
12:01 However, the basic codes you can access will force you to play the game differently and
12:06 actually learn the routes.
12:08 One code will take away your guiding arrow at the top screen, while another removes the
12:12 destination beacon.
12:13 But then you have the code that unlocks Another Day mode, which completely changes your spawn
12:18 point and the spawn points of passengers.
12:22 And if those weren't hard enough, go ahead and try the code that unlocks Expert mode,
12:26 which removes both the guiding arrow and the destination beacons from the game.
12:36 Psy Ops - The Mindgate Conspiracy - Psy Ops has a ton of cheat codes for you to discover.
12:46 Seriously, it's almost a whole laundry list of codes.
12:50 The majority of them are cosmetic, turning your character into various NPCs and side
12:54 characters.
12:55 Heck, even one code will turn your character into Scorpion from Mortal Kombat.
12:59 But the best codes here were the ones that unlocked bonus missions.
13:04 These missions could be obtained normally by simply fighting different gnomes hidden
13:07 in every level, but why do that when you could just play them instantly?
13:12 Not every one of these hidden levels is a winner, but they were still neat minigames
13:17 to discover.
13:23 The Incredible Hulk - Ultimate Destruction - When giving Ultimate Destruction's codes
13:33 a quick glance, things can look a little lackluster.
13:35 Really, does the Hulk need an abundance of different colored shorts?
13:40 No.
13:41 There were plenty of codes here that made the game significantly more entertaining than
13:44 it already was.
13:46 You could double your damage output, turn all vehicles into buses, and even play as
13:50 different characters.
13:51 There was a catch to most of these codes, though.
13:54 You had to beat the game first.
13:56 Even then, one final unlockable character escaped most people's grasp, as the code
14:01 for him would only work if you beat the game with a score of more than 1 million points.
14:05 We'll keep it a secret for those who haven't discovered it yet.
14:14 Enter the Matrix - Infinite Health - Enter the Matrix has a relatively short list of
14:23 cheats for you to use, shorter than most of the other entries we've already seen here.
14:28 Unlock all weapons, infinite ammo, infinite health, but the real fun begins when you input
14:32 the code for infinite focus and invisibility.
14:36 One lets you look cool and cheese enemies, while the other, well, it lets you cheese
14:40 enemies still, but in a much more comical way.
14:43 One code will even turn on friendly fire, allowing you and your friend to put the whole
14:46 story on pause just to fight each other.
14:49 Just be careful, because some codes do cause the game to freeze up in certain areas.
14:54 You have been warned.
15:03 Grand Theft Auto Series - GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas have the best cheats of any
15:17 PS2 game to ever hit the market.
15:19 Rockstar Games really let you turn the games into a playground of mayhem and chaos with
15:24 these codes.
15:25 Make your character super thick, maximize your wanted level instantly, turn all NPCs
15:30 into hostile mobs, snap traffic out of existence like Thanos, turn all taxis into nitro-fueled
15:36 gas guzzlers, turn off gravity for cars when hit, spawn tanks from thin air, you basically
15:41 become a god in these games.
15:44 You had the perfect excuse to unleash your inner Homelander and turn into a complete
15:49 psychopath without any question.
15:51 Should we say more on why this is the best PS2 game with the best cheat codes?
16:02 But enough of our rambling, which PS2 game do you think had the best cheat codes?
16:07 Did it make our list?
