00:00 She was the perfect receiver.
00:02 As if she'd been made for this.
00:04 Fade and pause to feel it.
00:06 Welcome to Mojo Plays.
00:08 And just because the credits rolled,
00:10 doesn't mean we have to stop playing.
00:12 For this video, we'll be focusing
00:14 primarily on DLCs
00:16 that added substantial additional
00:18 content, or completely
00:20 changed the overall experience of the game.
00:22 Look, Lootikins, we have
00:24 company! They must
00:26 want to hear all about your
00:28 courageous deeds!
00:30 Before we continue, be sure to subscribe
00:32 to our channel and ring the bell to get notified
00:34 about our latest videos.
00:36 Wrath of the Druids.
00:40 Assassin's Creed Valhalla.
00:42 He was destined to die in battle, and
00:44 he did.
00:46 He sits without him now.
00:48 My family owes yours
00:50 a sullen debt. As if Assassin's
00:52 Creed Valhalla wasn't a big enough
00:54 game already, Ubisoft
00:56 released multiple large DLCs
00:58 to further expand Eivor's
01:00 adventures. And by far,
01:02 one of the best was the Wrath of the Druids
01:04 expansion that sends Eivor
01:06 to the shores of the Emerald Hills
01:08 of Ireland. The beauty of Ireland
01:10 stands in stark contrast
01:12 to the base game's overcast
01:14 and mountainous regions. And the
01:16 politically charged narrative will send
01:18 Eivor to all corners of the
01:20 gorgeous countryside. The game
01:22 also introduces new enemies to
01:24 keep combat engaging and varied
01:26 enough to separate it from the familiarity
01:28 of Valhalla's normal enemy
01:30 roster. While much of the gameplay
01:32 remains unchanged from the base game,
01:34 the story is by far
01:36 one of Ubisoft's strongest in years.
01:38 Full of religious conflict,
01:40 memorable characters, and
01:42 plenty of twists and turns to keep players
01:44 interested enough to see the DLC
01:46 through to the end.
01:48 I prefer to know what is what, but
01:50 it was a pleasant surprise.
01:52 The next game is The Legend of Monkey
01:54 Island, Sea of Thieves.
01:56 Welcome to the official Legend of Monkey
01:58 Island meet and greet event. Your once
02:00 in a lifetime chance to hear all the
02:02 seafaring adventures of the mighty pirate
02:04 Kybrush Threepwood. Straight from the legend
02:06 himself. Since its release,
02:08 Rare's Sea of Thieves has managed
02:10 to save itself from walking the plank.
02:12 And with numerous expansions,
02:14 has delivered the definitive pirate
02:16 experience the famed developer
02:18 initially promised. The ever-expanding
02:20 game has seen players cross paths
02:22 with numerous other famous pirates,
02:24 including...
02:26 Captain Jack Sparrow.
02:28 But I suspect you
02:30 already knew that.
02:32 But by far, the best pirate crossover
02:34 comes from players landing on the
02:36 shores of Melee Island and crossing
02:38 swords with the nefarious Captain LeChuck
02:40 alongside the famed adventurer
02:42 Kybrush Threepwood.
02:44 Lovingly recreating the iconic
02:46 locations of the classic games,
02:48 players are free to explore the entire
02:50 island and cross paths
02:52 with many fan-favorite characters,
02:54 as well as a never-ending supply
02:56 of the ever-versatile rubber chickens.
02:58 For fans of the original games,
03:00 The Legend of Monkey Island is a
03:02 love letter to the franchise,
03:04 and introduces newcomers to one of the
03:06 funniest series in the history of
03:08 video games.
03:10 "All that waxy build-up can be a little awkward."
03:12 "Sometimes it helps to jiggle it about a bit."
03:14 Iceborne - Monster Hunter World
03:16 "Let's go. Lead the way."
03:18 The first of many on our list,
03:28 in which the size and scale of the DLC
03:30 almost matches the base game itself,
03:32 Iceborne packs so much content
03:34 from new monsters to equipment
03:36 and locations,
03:38 it could almost be a sequel to the
03:40 already fantastic Monster Hunter World.
03:42 There's a myriad of new armor features
03:44 for players to craft and collect,
03:46 including an all-new, more powerful
03:48 rank for loot and armor that will
03:50 draw even those with the strongest
03:52 equipment from the base game to the
03:54 next great hunt to increase their stats.
03:56 The increased power of the equipment
03:58 comes alongside all-new and more
04:00 difficult monster encounters
04:02 through some truly stunning environments
04:04 full of hidden areas and,
04:06 oftentimes, multiple levels to explore.
04:08 With numerous quality-of-life improvements,
04:10 as well as new mechanics,
04:12 particularly the Clutch Claw,
04:14 Capcom easily could have made this
04:16 a full-fledged sequel.
04:18 "Sound good?"
04:20 "An offer from the best handler in Astera?
04:22 You'd be crazy to refuse."
04:24 Winter's Expansion - Resident Evil Village
04:26 "Alright, well,
04:28 I think there's something I need to show you."
04:30 The ending of Village
04:32 was a satisfying conclusion
04:34 to Ethan Winter's story.
04:36 But not only does the expansion
04:38 offer a new and more powerful
04:40 gameplay, but not only does the expansion
04:42 offer new extras such as the third-person
04:44 perspective for fans to replay the
04:46 main game with, the update to Mercenaries
04:48 also lets players step into
04:50 the enormous heels of Lady D.
04:52 However, the main draw
04:54 is the new story content
04:56 continuing the saga of Ethan's daughter
04:58 Rose, as she returns to the titular
05:00 village to discover a way to rid
05:02 herself of her Mold Powers.
05:04 Rose has her own set of powers
05:06 to take on the new enemies she encounters
05:08 and some of them, such as
05:10 the Weeping Angel-style mannequins
05:12 are truly unsettling.
05:14 While the new story content is on the shorter
05:16 side, returning to the village
05:18 with a new perspective as well as
05:20 new ways to play still offers more
05:22 than enough motivation to replay
05:24 one of the best entries in the long-running
05:26 series.
05:28 "You are my precious Rose.
05:30 Never forget that.
05:32 Dad." Hivebusters
05:34 Gears 5
05:36 "This is your new shoot zone. I ain't stopping on the island,
05:38 but this storm might have other plans."
05:40 "Off to a promising start, eh?"
05:42 For those who weren't fans
05:44 of Gears 5's semi-open world
05:46 approach and one of the longest
05:48 campaigns in the series so far,
05:50 the Hivebusters DLC was a
05:52 welcome return to the series' roots
05:54 long-time fans can't appreciate.
05:56 Featuring new characters,
05:58 each with their own special abilities
06:00 as well as some brand new enemy types,
06:02 Hivebusters swiftly guides
06:04 players through its six chapters
06:06 and varying arenas that offer both
06:08 open and close-quarter combat
06:10 scenarios. Hivebusters
06:12 also features some of the most varied
06:14 environments in the series so far
06:16 and each one is visually stunning
06:18 as you run, gun, and chainsaw
06:20 your way through every encounter.
06:22 Paired with the equally fun escape
06:24 mode, Gears 5's DLC
06:26 manages to blend the best of the old
06:28 and the new and is a great throwback
06:30 to the series' roots for long-time
06:32 fans. I know your past.
06:34 They've all
06:36 suffered and struggled, but
06:38 you've still got that fight in ya.
06:40 Purpose.
06:42 That's why we're here.
06:44 A.W.E. Control.
06:46 Change the style, change myself,
06:48 forgotten the language, relearn the language.
06:50 Have I been here before?
06:52 Remedy's
06:54 SCP game, Control, was
06:56 an immediate hit with its twisty
06:58 narrative, equally twisted hallways,
07:00 and power fantasy gameplay.
07:02 Given the Bureau of Control
07:04 investigates paranormal incidents,
07:06 naturally, Remedy was able to
07:08 tie this directly into Alan Wake
07:10 and with the A.W.E. expansion,
07:12 the two worlds finally
07:14 collided. As Jesse explores
07:16 the Oldest House, Alan will narrate
07:18 his entrapment in the Dark Place
07:20 as if Jesse is a character in
07:22 one of his novels. Fans of the
07:24 2010 game will find much to appreciate
07:26 with references to events of the
07:28 first game, as well as tying up
07:30 loose character threads. Combining
07:32 the mutative powers of the Hiss
07:34 and the Darkness creates some of the most
07:36 horrific designs in the game.
07:38 And while even those who are unfamiliar with
07:40 Alan Wake can still enjoy this expansion,
07:42 this is clearly aimed at
07:44 long-time fans and the narrative
07:46 threads lead directly to Alan Wake 2.
07:48 Things said in
07:50 motion. If the alarm's
07:52 true, then so is the reason
07:54 for the alarm. The effect
07:56 must follow the cause.
07:58 Intergrade
08:00 Final Fantasy VII Remake
08:02 "Members of Avalanche!"
08:04 "You're full support!"
08:06 "We got this!"
08:08 Final Fantasy VII
08:10 Remake had been a long
08:12 time coming, and Square managed
08:14 to deliver an experience that balanced
08:16 the best elements of the classic original
08:18 with modern day combat mechanics.
08:20 While the game might not have told
08:22 the complete story in its first entry,
08:24 fans did get some additional
08:26 content to help flesh out the world
08:28 as well as upgrades to the overall
08:30 experience. Released a year
08:32 after the base game, Intergrade
08:34 sharpens the visuals to 4K,
08:36 reduces the load times, and
08:38 increases the framerate to 60.
08:40 For PS5 owners, the new episode
08:42 Intermission lets them see a new
08:44 side of Midgar with the new playable
08:46 character Yuffie exploring her
08:48 arrival and subsequent journey
08:50 leading up to her team-up with Cloud
08:52 and company in Rebirth.
08:54 Most importantly, Intermission
08:56 adds additional content to the game's
08:58 base Stinger scene and shows
09:00 Zack arriving at Aerith's church in
09:02 Midgar after the events of Remake.
09:04 "Aerith?"
09:08 Return to Castlevania.
09:10 Dead Cells.
09:12 "Dead Cells!"
09:14 "Dead Cells!"
09:16 "Dead Cells!"
09:18 Some crossovers make
09:20 so much sense, it's remarkable
09:22 no one thought of them before.
09:24 Combining the excellent roguelike Dead Cells
09:26 with the king of Metroidvania games
09:28 managed to elevate an already
09:30 great game and pay homage
09:32 to one of the classics of the genre
09:34 that hasn't seen much love in
09:36 recent years. Dead Cells'
09:38 style already took heavy inspiration
09:40 from the Castlevania series,
09:42 so guiding your prisoner through the halls
09:44 of Castle Dracula was a natural
09:46 fit. More than a simple reskin
09:48 of the base game, musical
09:50 tracks have been remixed to include
09:52 classical themes from the Castlevania
09:54 series, and the player can collect
09:56 many classic weapons and items
09:58 from the series that inspired it.
10:00 Players can even unlock a special level
10:02 in which they embody the whip-cracking vampire
10:04 hunter Richter Belmont, and
10:06 a level designed in the style of
10:08 Castlevania Symphony of the Night.
10:10 [Loud thud]
10:12 [Loud thud]
10:14 [Loud thud]
10:16 Valhalla, God of War
10:18 Ragnarok. "We're back outside."
10:20 "You marched into Valhalla
10:24 without even talking to us first?"
10:26 "Nice to see you too, milady." While the
10:28 conclusion of God of War Ragnarok of
10:30 course left the door open to future installments,
10:32 no one could have predicted
10:34 we'd receive DLC a year
10:36 later, or that it would see
10:38 Kratos traversing the afterlife
10:40 as a roguelike. Kratos battles
10:42 his way through multiple levels of Valhalla,
10:44 each representing his
10:46 memories as he learns to deal with his past
10:48 actions during the Greek Saga,
10:50 and their repercussions.
10:52 Not only were we excited for any
10:54 new God of War content, but
10:56 long-time fans got to face down
10:58 familiar Greek enemies, and unlock
11:00 new armor sets, as well as the ability
11:02 to replay Ragnarok as a
11:04 young Greek Kratos.
11:06 Kratos using the repetition of combat
11:08 as a means of therapy is
11:10 completely on point, and
11:12 seeing him learn to finally accept his past
11:14 through Christopher Judge's beautiful monologue
11:16 was the closure we
11:18 didn't know we needed.
11:20 "What now?"
11:22 "Now?"
11:24 "I believe
11:28 I would like
11:30 to sit here for a while."
11:32 Phantom Liberty, Cyberpunk
11:34 2077. "Breathe deep,
11:36 count to ten,
11:38 recite a mantra. Whatever
11:40 happens, calm. Helps you stabilize."
11:42 CD Projekt Red
11:44 deserves a lot of credit for turning
11:46 Cyberpunk around from its initial trainwreck
11:48 of a release, and with their
11:50 Phantom Liberty DLC, they were
11:52 finally able to fulfill their promises
11:54 for the game and then some.
11:56 Not only did the DLC
11:58 provide some brilliant new story content
12:00 that could also have an effect on
12:02 the main game's overall conclusion,
12:04 but countless quality of life improvements
12:06 were made to the UI and
12:08 combat, and numerous fan
12:10 requested features such as a functioning
12:12 metro system were introduced.
12:14 Players were also given an entire
12:16 new district to explore full of
12:18 new weapons and upgrades,
12:20 vehicles, and cyberware.
12:22 The sheer scale and scope of the
12:24 DLC is reminiscent of their
12:26 massive Blood & Wine expansion for
12:28 The Witcher 3, and CD Projekt
12:30 Red even suggested players who have
12:32 completed the game start a new
12:34 run to experience the best
12:36 possible version of their latest epic
12:38 masterpiece. "Cause with the
12:40 biz done, their arm
12:42 will still be far up your ass
12:44 and you'll be a meat puppet."
