00:00 My brother used to live, my old father passed away and there's only a brother living with mum and she was getting a bit old.
00:08 We thought, why don't we move back to Bentonheath, so we came back.
00:12 I'd left the council, I was working for the Tamworth Regional Council.
00:17 I'd left there and we had a house in Tamworth, we sold the house in Tamworth and yeah, brought this.
00:23 I grew up here, born here.
00:25 What was it like growing up here?
00:27 A lot different to today.
00:29 A lot more to do than when we were kids, you know.
00:32 Swimming, the river, horses, had to make your own fun.
00:37 How has it changed throughout the years?
00:39 It doesn't seem to, there's a lot of the old families have gone, you know, passed away I suppose.
00:45 And a lot of different people, a lot of strangers living here now.
00:48 Not so many kids I don't think, they haven't got the big families like we used to have.
00:55 My dad was managing the Bentonheath Hotel, so I met Nigel at the Bentonheath Hotel, he was a barman.
01:01 Was it love plus hate?
01:04 No, it wasn't really.
01:06 No, a bit of age difference.
01:08 It was a lot to get out and do a bit of, you know, have a look around the state.
01:13 Life's too short.
