00:11 Welcome to Telford Town Park and to our COVID memorial for this National Day of Reflection.

00:18 I'd like to just talk about three things.

00:21 The first is those people that died during the pandemic, including my auntie June Carr.

00:28 And not only did they lose their lives during the pandemic,

00:33 they also lost an opportunity to have a proper funeral in many cases.

00:39 And I remember my auntie June's funeral not being the funeral that we had envisaged for her.

00:48 And even now, that sense of a missed opportunity to say goodbye.

00:55 And I hope that this National Day of Reflection, and indeed this memorial here in Telford Town Park,

01:00 will be an internal opportunity and location for us to remember those people that died during the pandemic.
