00:00 This week I've met with senior police officers and made clear it is the public's expectation
00:06 that they will not merely manage these protests but police them.
00:10 And I say this to the police, we will back you when you take action.
00:17 But if we are asking more of the police, we in government must also back up that call
00:22 with action.
00:24 To that end, this month the government will implement a new, robust framework for how
00:30 it deals with this issue.
00:32 To ensure that we are dealing with the root causes of this problem and that no extremist
00:37 organisations or individuals are being lent legitimacy by their actions and interactions
00:43 with central government.
00:45 You cannot be part of our civic life if your agenda is to tear it down.
00:51 We will redouble our support for the Prevent programme to stop young minds being poisoned
00:56 by extremism.
00:58 We will demand that universities stop extremist activity on campus.
01:02 We will also act to prevent people entering this country whose aim is to undermine its
01:07 values.
01:08 The Home Secretary has instructed that if those here on visas choose to spew hate or
01:14 protest or seek to intimidate people, we will remove their right to be here.
