How did Alabama basketball approach guarding Dalton Knecht?
Transcript
00:00 There were a couple Tennessee possessions in the first half where y'all double connect
00:05 a long way from the basket outside the three point line.
00:08 I didn't see much of that in the second half, but was the idea there just to make him kind
00:12 of uncomfortable and harass him as much as he could?
00:15 Yeah, we wanted him thinking about whether we were going to double or not double.
00:19 You know, I'll have to go back and look to see if it worked.
00:22 I mean, like, you saw what he was doing to some of the teams in the league.
00:26 He was just taking games over.
00:30 We watched a lot of NBA here and see what the team's doing.
00:35 Guys like Steph Curry, Luke, Dave Miller, they get going like they're almost on guard
00:42 with one on one.
00:43 We felt like that's the way he had to look at the 25 points in the last 10 minutes of
00:47 that, 10 to 12 minutes of that all-game game.
00:49 Just took the thing over after all that was over.
00:51 So we didn't want him getting in a groove, getting comfortable doing that to us.
00:55 So we felt maybe we were a little questioning his mind.
00:58 You know, it helped get him in foul trouble for sure.
01:00 I don't know if the traps helped to foul trouble out, the combination of everything.
01:07 You know, he's still in the 13 points.
01:10 You know, but he just missed some shots that we were doing a great job, but he just missed
01:15 some shots too.
01:16 But he's really good.
01:18 If we're fortunate enough to play these guys again in the NCAA tournament, you know, we'll
01:23 have to look and see if we can find the possessions that we've been tracking.
