We asked people their thoughts of bus services in Sheffield.

Transcript
00:00 In the village where I live in Doncaster I've noticed in the past decade that the services
00:07 have been in decline. We used to have like three an hour between two companies, now we
00:12 just have one and we're lucky if we get that every couple of hours. Just on Friday alone
00:17 I got back from Sheffield, I went to the bus stop and the next bus wasn't coming until
00:22 for another hour and 15 minutes.
00:24 What did you do?
00:26 I had to get a taxi home.
00:28 I mean in the time that I'd have been waiting I probably could have walked home in that
00:35 time but it was dark and it was cold so I didn't want to. But even still it was annoying
00:39 to have to pay like £7.50 for a taxi when I could have paid £2. But to be honest the
00:45 time was probably more valuable to me at that point than the money was.
00:49 Do you think the bus services are good enough in Sheffield?
00:52 Not as good as it used to be. It used to be, you know, it depends what route you're in.
00:58 I mean there's some people, I mean one an hour.
01:01 Where is it that you normally travel to?
01:04 Mainly to here, anywhere I'm going.
01:09 And it takes, there's normally just one an hour did you say?
01:12 Not on mine. There's one if I want to go back to the hospital and get number 10, but that's
01:20 only one an hour so it's two buses a bus I can just time it at the right time.
01:27 But normally it would be pretty good, it's not too late. There's plenty of buses but
01:35 they all go the same time. You never know how it used to be.
01:40 So what did the buses used to be like that they aren't now? What's the difference?
01:46 They used to be more frequent didn't they? You'd need some time to get on to it in between.
01:52 Buses every half hour, you've only got one bus going to another edge.
