00:00 Morning is the critical time to set the tone
00:02 for your whole day, and I want you all to start it off
00:04 stress-free, happy, and easy.
00:06 So today, three simple things to do
00:09 within three minutes of waking up
00:11 and making it work for everyone.
00:12 I've got a special guest here to help me out.
00:14 She's a brand new mom and a daytime soap opera star
00:16 and general hospital, Ashley Jones.
00:19 (audience cheering)
00:28 Hi!
00:29 Oh, sorry, oh, good to see you.
00:31 I'm wonderful, it's so good to be here.
00:33 What a good audience.
00:34 They love having, it's the best audience in television.
00:35 That I'm convinced.
00:36 (audience cheering)
00:37 I believe it.
00:38 They keep coming back.
00:38 (audience cheering)
00:41 So congratulations, you got a new baby.
00:43 New baby.
00:44 What's his name?
00:45 Hayden.
00:46 Hayden.
00:46 Hayden Joel, yes.
00:47 He's three months.
00:48 Oh my goodness, look at Hayden.
00:49 Hayden, you should just drop out of acting
00:51 and just manage him.
00:53 He's so cute.
00:54 Seriously.
00:54 But you had a busy career.
00:55 How do you handle all the stress?
00:56 Oh, you know, I'm not great at it.
00:58 I used to be better at it
01:00 and being a new mom has added that extra element
01:02 and so I am hoping you can actually give me some tips.
01:06 Well, I'm not gonna give you tips,
01:08 but we actually teamed up
01:08 with one of the biggest pollsters in the country
01:10 for our report on health in America
01:12 and revealed some pretty startling statistics
01:14 'cause you're not alone here.
01:15 57% of women feel stressed out quite often in their lives.
01:19 55% of women often feel anxious.
01:22 So stress and anxiety.
01:23 I believe it.
01:25 I mean, you're here as a new mom in a career.
01:26 I mean, that's exactly what I,
01:28 stress and anxiety, it's pretty much,
01:30 especially a new mom, the anxiety is pretty intense.
01:33 So we're gonna walk through some tactics
01:35 that work for you and everybody else.
01:36 Great.
01:37 So one of the biggest things we gotta do
01:38 to tackle daily stress
01:39 is to start first thing in the morning.
01:41 I agree with that.
01:41 Don't you think?
01:42 Just get it off the right way, set the standard,
01:44 and I made a commitment to everybody,
01:45 we can do this together,
01:46 they have three minutes to do all three,
01:47 so we gotta make them quick and easy.
01:49 Great, I love that.
01:49 All right, first question.
01:50 That beautiful little Hayden,
01:52 he looks like he's,
01:53 he hasn't missed many meals, I guess.
01:55 (laughs)
01:55 What does he weigh?
01:56 Look at him over there.
01:57 (laughs)
01:58 Aw, he's 13 pounds now.
02:00 Oh my goodness.
02:01 Yeah.
02:02 (audience applauds)
02:03 So how many times do you think you lift Hayden up
02:05 to put him somewhere or take him out?
02:07 All day long, are you kidding me?
02:08 All day, every day, yes.
02:10 So a lot of times when we do those kinds of actions,
02:12 or frankly, just sitting at a desk,
02:13 we punch our shoulders up like this,
02:16 we actually store our tension in here.
02:17 And also I'm breastfeeding.
02:19 Ooh.
02:20 So I'm either hunched over,
02:21 and also if anyone's ever,
02:22 I'm sure there are people who've done this before,
02:24 you just, you tense up because you just,
02:26 especially as a new, you know, a newborn,
02:29 you really want to try to make it work,
02:30 and it's, I'm constantly feeling the stress there.
02:32 So the reason that we get the aches in our shoulders
02:35 is because when you tense up like this,
02:36 the blood supply to those muscles,
02:38 they're not quite what they should be.
02:39 And so first thing in the morning when you get up,
02:41 we've got to develop some stress strategies.
02:43 So here, stand for one second.
02:44 We're gonna do shoulder rolls.
02:45 Everyone in the audience,
02:46 please stand for me if you don't mind.
02:48 Let's do all this together.
02:49 Simple, you can do it any time of the day,
02:50 but stretching muscles brings more blood to them,
02:53 and obviously takes away some of the tension
02:54 that they're storing.
02:55 So roll backwards.
02:57 Now don't move your neck, everybody, like this.
02:58 It's just your shoulders, you know,
03:00 keep your neck stable, five back.
03:02 The audience is doing,
03:03 you look very handsome audience, by the way.
03:05 Move it forward now, all right?
03:07 All right, do it five times each.
03:08 Does that help at all?
03:09 - Yeah, I mean, it really does.
03:11 - And then you can do all kinds of other fun stuff,
03:12 which I'm not gonna make you do right now,
03:14 but that's the--
03:15 - It gets the idea going, and then you can--
03:16 - You only have three minutes.
03:17 So we pick a body part, do a different one every day.
03:20 (audience applauds)
03:20 The second big tip is something that they talked about
03:25 since ancient times, which is water.
03:27 Is that a big part of your life these days, drinking it?
03:30 - I'm not a huge fan of water,
03:32 but I have to be right now.
03:32 Again, breastfeeding, if you don't drink the water,
03:35 he's not gonna get the milk.
03:36 So I have to do this.
03:38 - And it sounds so simple.
03:39 I'm sure everyone here has heard this recommendation.
03:41 Fluids, like water in particular,
03:43 stimulate your digestive tract.
03:45 So when you first get up in the morning,
03:46 I always keep a little cup of water,
03:48 just drink the water.
03:49 Now, let's do it right now.
03:50 It starts all those juices flowing in the right direction
03:53 so you don't assault them with coffee
03:55 or cereal or something else.
03:56 Ready?
03:57 Three, two, cheers on.
03:58 (audience applauds)
04:01 What a diva!
04:06 How much longer can you take it through that glass of water?
04:09 (audience applauds)
04:12 - You are fast.
04:13 - You drank it like it was beer.
04:14 It was water.
04:16 So when you're stressed out,
04:18 which obviously having a child doesn't,
04:19 even if they're beautiful,
04:20 but the love stresses you out a little bit.
04:22 - You're just the worry.
04:23 You wanna protect them, right.
04:24 - So do you ever feel run down when that happens?
04:26 - I do.
04:27 And I, yes.
04:28 The first thing I notice when I feel run down
04:30 is I kind of feel it right here in my throat.
04:32 And it is an alert that I might be getting sick
04:34 and I need to take precautions immediately.
04:36 - You guys ever feel that?
04:38 Right, run down, just going too hard
04:39 and you just don't feel like your body's able to keep up?
04:42 Let me show you why normally your body's able to protect you,
04:44 why that run down feeling happens.
04:46 So it all takes place, like everything else,
04:47 in your bloodstream.
04:48 So let's dive into the middle of it.
04:50 That's your avatar, by the way.
04:52 All right, now the red cells are there,
04:54 but notice the immune cells, the big purple ones.
04:56 And they're designed to be,
04:58 attention, looking for bacteria,
05:00 any bad things coming your way.
05:01 So when they see a virus or bacteria,
05:02 like these little things right here,
05:03 these little green things.
05:04 - They attack it.
05:05 - The purple cells come in there, the immune cells,
05:06 they attack it.
05:07 Some of them designed to kill those bacteria and viruses.
05:10 Others release these little blue chemicals
05:12 that warn the body that there's a problem.
05:14 They signal for antibodies and other things
05:16 to come in there and help out.
05:18 So it's a very intricate system.
05:20 The white cells, those immune cells need to get out
05:23 of the middle of the body and come here and do good.
05:25 Unfortunately, if your immune system is worn out,
05:27 that constant surveillance falls apart.
05:29 And you mentioned your throat.
05:31 We have bacteria and viruses in our throat.
05:32 Everyone does right now.
05:34 If you don't have immune cells that function,
05:36 we're not gonna be able to protect each other.
05:37 So many folks are discovering the benefits
05:39 of immune-boosting supplements to help you stay healthy,
05:42 even during times of stress.
05:43 So the third simple bit of advice I have,
05:45 within three minutes waking up,
05:46 is to add an immunity-boosting supplement
05:48 to your morning routine.
05:49 And one of the best is you, Saina, is ProGlucamune.
05:52 So I understand you made this part
05:53 of your morning routine also.
05:55 As a new mom, I had to.
05:56 We don't have time to get sick.
05:58 You just don't.
05:59 And I need anything extra that I can do.
06:00 And this is so simple.
06:02 I just take it in the morning with breakfast
06:03 and at night with dinner.
06:04 We all know I love these guys that you, Saina.
06:06 They're trusted sponsors and partners of the show.
06:08 And their ProGlucamune supplement contains a unique blend
06:10 of beta-glucans.
06:11 Now, for those who don't know who beta-glucans are
06:13 and what they are,
06:14 they are compounds from baker's yeast and mushrooms
06:17 that have been shown to support your body's
06:19 natural immune response and help protect your health.
06:21 So ProGlucamune is also a product that contains zinc.
06:24 And I bring up that one-two punch
06:26 because the zinc has additional antioxidant protection
06:28 and immune benefits.
06:30 So now that I've explained why it should work,
06:32 let's turn to the expert.
06:33 Why does it seem to work for you?
06:36 - I notice I have more energy
06:37 and I don't know if there's a correlation,
06:39 but I feel like it helps me with my milk supply.
06:42 It's just been very, it's a great part
06:45 of my daily routine now.
06:46 And mainly, I have not been sick.
06:48 That's the one great thing I've noticed.
06:49 - Hayden's getting a good deal out of this.
06:51 - He is.
06:51 (audience cheering)
06:53 - So how often do you take the ProGlucamune?
06:56 - I take it twice a day.
06:58 The first thing in the morning and then I take it at night.
07:00 And now I'm gonna be taking it with my glass of water
07:03 after I do my neck roll.
07:04 - Yes, the only three things.
07:06 I'm not asking that much of you, Ashley.
07:08 So I wanna thank our trusted sponsorship partner, USANA.
07:11 You go to drriles.com to enter for a chance
07:13 to win one of a thousand bottles of ProGlucamune.
07:16 Ashley Jones, thank you very much.
07:17 - Thank you.
07:18 - You've got such a perfect sense of timing.
07:19 You think we're done?
07:20 (audience cheering)
07:22 - I feel like this has been an incredible audience today
07:25 and shouldn't we send them home with something?
07:28 - All right, all right.
07:29 'Cause they're so wonderful.
07:29 You all get to go home with your own bottle
07:31 of USANA's ProGlucamune.
07:33 (audience cheering)
07:33 We'll be right back.
07:35 (upbeat music)
07:36 Thank you for watching.
