00:00 First, Senegalese President Macky Sall indefinitely suspended the country's electoral process,
00:06 citing corruption allegations levelled against the Constitutional Council. That's the highest
00:11 court in the land charged with overseeing the electoral process. Then he organised a
00:17 national dialogue during which a commission recommended that the elections be held in
00:22 June. And now, following a ruling from the Constitutional Council, the very same one
00:28 that was facing corruption allegations, the election will be held on March 24th. On top
00:35 of all of this, Macky Sall has dissolved Senegal's government, naming the country's Interior
00:41 Minister as PM. This is complete political chaos and it's completely unprecedented.
00:48 Many will be pleased that the elections will be held soon, but some will almost certainly
00:53 be questioning whether all the violence and unrest triggered by Macky Sall's decision to delay
00:58 the election in the first place has been worth it.
