00:00 I was 11 years old, about 11 years old, and I had seen a commercial on TV for a dishwashing
00:08 liquid and the boys in my class at the time said, you know, it said, "Women all over America
00:12 are fighting greasy pots and pans."
00:14 And the boys said, "Yeah, that's where women belong, in the kitchen."
00:17 And at 11, I just found that infuriating and wrote lots of letters and put pen to paper
00:22 and they ended up changing the commercial to "People all over America."
00:27 And you know, it's funny to look back at it now because that was before social media where
00:32 you had a reach that was so much greater.
00:35 It was just an 11-year-old with a pen and paper.
00:38 But it just, I guess, goes to show that if you know that there's something wrong and
00:42 you're using your voice to advocate in the direction of what is right, that can really
00:47 land and resonate and make huge change for a lot of people.
00:50 So your voice is not small.
00:53 It just needs to be heard.
00:54 Yeah.
