Transcript
00:00 Over a three day period from Thursday, Mid North Coast Police District conducted an operation
00:04 in the Warhope area.
00:06 Our resources, supported by many other units from the NSW Police, descended upon Warhope
00:12 and the surrounding areas to prevent and disrupt crime and to reinforce with the community
00:18 that we are here to protect you.
00:20 We conducted overt operations including search warrants and firearms prohibition order searches,
00:27 arresting some domestic violence offenders and seizing drugs.
00:31 But we also engaged with the community over those days, getting into the schools, businesses,
00:37 engaging with seniors and then conducting a very successful community engagement at
00:42 the park in Warhope on Saturday which saw about a thousand people present.
00:46 We always want to work with the community and have the support of the community in everything
00:51 we do and we need that so that was a big part of the three day operation.
00:55 There were two search warrants conducted, they were in relation to prohibited drugs
01:00 so during those searches some amounts of cannabis and methamphetamine were seized.
01:06 There's a number of parties who will now be facing the courts for those matters.
01:10 Warhope and Hastings sector was identified by the command as an area to try this operation,
01:17 this saturation operation, just to have a highly visible presence and it was a really
01:23 good success for the community and it's something that we envisage that we will roll
01:27 out into other areas of our district.
