00:00 Rowan Dennis arrived earlier today. He was flanked by his defence lawyer Jess Kurzer
00:07 and also a male supporter. It's actually the first time he's faced court since he was charged
00:12 with cause death by dangerous driving and driving without due care. Today, prosecutors
00:18 asked for a further five months to enable major crash investigators to complete a reconstruction
00:24 of the crash scene. His lawyer, defence lawyer Jess Kurzer also asked for a bail variation
00:32 so that Rowan Dennis doesn't have to regularly report to police. Police prosecutors didn't
00:37 argue against that variation and he appeared quite stony faced, had quite a serious expression
00:43 inside of court. And did he say anything outside court, Evelyn?
00:51 He declined to comment as he was walking in and outside of court. When he first arrived
00:58 he looked a little bit shocked by how many cameras were waiting to film him go into court
01:04 today. On the way out he essentially just looked down while a lot of court reporters
01:10 were asking him about the events surrounding that alleged offence. He declined to comment
01:16 by looking down and he promptly got into a car and was driven away. His lawyer also declined
01:23 to comment outside of court so he is next expected to face court on August 6.
