00:00 Alabama Central dot com. I'm Katie Windham here with Joe Gaither and Blake Beiler after Alabama's 102-88 loss to Florida in the quarterfinals of the SEC tournament.
00:08 Alabama goes one and done. March 2024 continues to be pretty unkind to the Crimson Tide. Joe, what went wrong for Alabama tonight?
00:16 Well, they lost their intensity. I mean, Alabama came out the first four minutes just on fire and looked like a team that might win the whole dang tournament.
00:23 But really, Mike White called a timeout and got Florida regrouped and Alabama took a punch in the mouth and never really was able to overcome that.
00:31 Florida dug back into it, taking a 31-30 lead in the first half and then they never looked back.
00:37 Yeah, Todd Golden, not Mike White. Mike White was against him last night, but it's 12-23 at the SEC tournament and we've been here for a long time.
00:48 We saw a lot of Alabama's problems show up again tonight. Do you think this team can fix them at this point? Or at this point, is this team what it is?
01:01 I think the team is what it is at this point because you are kind of halfway through March and every single problem that we've seen has been the same problem that we've seen throughout this entire season.
01:13 But I don't think that means that this team, as it's built and as it's constructed, can't still have a semi-successful NCAA tournament.
01:22 I think the way Alabama has set itself up, they're probably going to be a four seed, which means you're going to be playing a mid-major 13 seed in the first round.
01:30 You look at how Alabama's played against mid-majors this season, they've been really successful.
01:34 They've beaten mid-majors by an average of 25-30 points every time. And then you look past that, if you win the first game, Alabama's got to play a team on a one-day scout against this offense.
01:45 And while they haven't played great, playing this offense on a one-day scout is really tough for any team.
01:51 So the way Alabama's set itself up, it could still make the second weekend of the NCAA tournament.
01:56 I don't think that's an outlandish prospect to think of. But as far as making a deep, deep run, we kind of know what this team is.
02:05 And we know that unless a lot of things change really quickly, which is unlikely, you're not going to see a deep run that maybe people were hoping for or could hope for out of this team.
02:18 Alabama will find its NCAA destination on Sunday. We'll have you posted with all that stuff.
02:26 But that will wrap up our coverage from Nashville. Pretty short coverage since Alabama goes one and done.
02:30 But that will be the Mr. Report side. Thank you so much for watching.
