00:00:00 We go live to Venezuela.
00:00:06 The United Socialist Party of Venezuela hosts its Congress through 45 President Nicolas
00:00:10 Maduro as its candidate for the July 28th presidential elections.
00:00:15 So, I know that Chavez told us in that moment when we felt that the ground was opening before
00:00:32 our feet, that he was going to take us safe and sound in front of the difficulties that
00:00:40 were coming.
00:00:43 He didn't give us a moment, not even a cry, our father.
00:00:53 And it turned us.
00:00:59 So that we start to Nicolas with this complex moment.
00:01:08 And brave us, just a few guys, Chavez left us.
00:01:16 So the enemy wants to make war to us.
00:01:22 Venezuelans have to take care of each other.
00:01:29 So many times they took us on the border of abyss.
00:01:37 But if you start the violence.
00:01:53 Chavez is the father of us.
00:02:10 They said horrible things to our president that they only could believe.
00:02:16 But he has a bride.
00:02:17 The bride was smart.
00:02:21 The bride of a noble soul, sensible.
00:02:33 That was not going to let be harmed by power.
00:02:39 He has a lot of character.
00:02:42 Nicolas does not know weakness.
00:02:47 So in the very difficult area of politics, he continues to be the same.
00:02:53 Nicolas, the nice guy, patient, that believes in people, that knows how to fight.
00:03:02 Nicolas, of all life.
00:03:06 The boy who walks on the streets of Caracas, always trying to be and to get things better
00:03:12 for everyone.
00:03:15 So with the truth, he defeats everything.
00:03:17 And when he was used, he was accused of traitor.
00:03:23 He handed himself.
00:03:26 And people told him to be retired, to leave the country.
00:03:37 A great offer for cowards, for millions of dollars.
00:03:44 They were so wrong with Nicolas.
00:03:49 So you can go to a different way.
00:03:58 Before our decision to be free, they tried to put walls in every country.
00:04:06 Venezuela returned into an experimental field.
00:04:11 They have done everything to us, economic war, psychological sabotage, invasions.
00:04:26 And to every attack, there was always a strategic response.
00:04:33 Our country had been hit with so much evil.
00:04:41 But every obstacle, in every obstacle, we found a reason to defeat them.
00:04:50 Because this is a Chavist country.
00:04:53 And Nicolas has known how to lead us.
00:04:58 Today, we enjoy the peace that we have built.
00:05:06 And it looks so far all the standards that we lived so many years ago.
00:05:12 But it is a danger to forget where we come from.
00:05:15 He also has done even miracles to get us peace.
00:05:21 The Larados today delivered a better future.
00:05:28 It is a danger to forget.
00:05:29 Because in the other side, there is only a way back.
00:05:37 Everything they have tried, everything is in the other side.
00:05:42 And Nicolas is the only candidate that can be also with peace and inclusion.
00:05:54 Stability, future, and besides, the certainty of hope of everything we can do with Nicolas.
00:06:05 With everything we have lived, we have achieved.
00:06:09 And I think we will continue achieving.
00:06:12 So that's why I admire Nicolas, our candidate.
00:06:26 There's the woman.
00:06:27 Very beautiful, Carola.
00:06:40 Well, it's not a turn in this contest, which is the content of the historical fight, the
00:06:53 historical leadership of the Republic, and the way we came here in these days of fight
00:07:00 in 2024.
00:07:03 That's why we want to listen to a woman that is part of the fair history of fight of our
00:07:10 people.
00:07:11 That history, that woman that was followed, but she was able to see the eyes of Chavez
00:07:21 commander.
00:07:22 Immediately, she was at my side, our commander Hugo Chavez, our beloved Maria Leon.
00:07:46 I'm very excited.
00:07:53 As usual.
00:07:57 Long live Bolivar.
00:08:04 Long live Chavez.
00:08:15 So I want to start greeting the teacher, the father of Chavez, who is with us today, to
00:08:30 his family.
00:08:33 I guarantee Chavez that we continue his instructions.
00:08:50 So we, all of us, even the most humble, which is me, the legacy of Hugo Chavez.
00:09:15 So, I need to tell you the name, the prosecutors.
00:09:42 It is an honor that all of us started the fight for socialism when we were only 15,
00:10:02 16 years old.
00:10:05 Now we are in the 90s.
00:10:13 But here we are, steady.
00:10:19 We were able to see which is the greater.
00:10:25 We saw socialism's fall.
00:10:32 We had no idea of the pain that our generation had to live.
00:10:44 When they saw the statue, I felt how they were bringing down Simon Bolivar's statue.
00:10:59 But we are, like Simon Bolivar, still fighting.
00:11:08 They said that socialism was over.
00:11:16 That the end of history was coming.
00:11:20 And they were talking about the end of history.
00:11:47 And the socialism was over.
00:11:52 Our hero arrives, Hugo Chavez, the February 4th.
00:12:07 And here we are.
00:12:13 Now we are victorious.
00:12:18 Long life to Chavez.
00:12:29 But Chavez, as our beloved Carola just said, accomplished an order.
00:12:41 You will choose Nicolás Maduro Moros.
00:12:48 Nothing else.
00:12:49 (Applause.)
00:13:11 (Music.)
00:13:40 But I also want to add some reasons.
00:13:46 There are thousands, but I chose some.
00:13:52 In December, I wrote some of them that I don't know if the president was able to read them.
00:14:06 But I will repeat them now.
00:14:09 I want to thank our president, Nicolás Maduro, first, for all the lives that were saved by
00:14:25 his measures against COVID-19.
00:14:31 Thank you, president.
00:14:40 For the peace in Venezuela that we reached with it from the National Assembly.
00:14:59 For the good and great government that allowed us to recover all the health centers.
00:15:21 And the names of many heroes, between them, Macario Vizcaya and Pedro Ortega.
00:15:33 Thank you, Mr. President.
00:15:45 For taking to the National Pantheon, Tejemilo Cabaldon and Fabricio Guerra.
00:16:02 For the dialogue and diplomacy of peace that had defeated the oligarchy plans and the empire,
00:16:17 the imperialism.
00:16:28 For the referendum triumph of the Guayana Esequiba.
00:16:38 For the Bolivarian dream of union.
00:16:44 To be able to sit in the negotiation table, the president of Guyana.
00:16:57 For the triumph of all our people.
00:17:01 For the freedom of Alex Sack.
00:17:06 The release of Alex Sack.
00:17:14 For recognizing Bolivarian socialism and feminism of Hugo Chavez.
00:17:23 And for the great mission, Venezuela Women.
00:17:39 So today, I can barely talk for the emotion I'm feeling right now.
00:17:54 So I offer this mission in honor of all the female heroes, Amelia Hernandez, Nora Castaneda,
00:18:16 Elizabeth Tortosa, among others, also Norma Romero.
00:18:33 I also want to thank and offer the mission that you gave us to the heroes like Adina
00:18:47 Batista, May Gualida Barrera, our first fighter, Celia Flores, to Marisol Plaza.
00:19:17 Gloria Severo, and Nelly Infante.
00:19:27 I'm convinced when I was at work, the woman that was assigned by Hugo Chavez, we had a
00:19:43 motto, "The daughters of this land, we all are heroes."
00:19:52 And now, I say, the sons of this land that are here today are all heroes of the homeland.
00:20:15 So why?
00:20:16 We want our person, Nicolás Maduro, because he's our son.
00:20:27 God bless you.
00:20:37 And we are proud of his strength.
00:20:47 So President, allow me to say to you that we admire you, that your strength really thank
00:21:02 us.
00:21:05 So we protect you.
00:21:08 Everybody, every soul, every heart is with you and protects you.
00:21:29 You are a good man, a man of people, the people that loves you.
00:21:48 Long life to Nicolás Maduro Moros.
00:22:13 Now it is time for the five generations.
00:22:42 So now it's the turn of the second generation, the foundational of the Fifth Republic Movement
00:23:10 that was with Commander Hugo Chavez in the trip to assume the electorate path.
00:23:21 So we are going to listen now to our brother, our fighter, Adán Chávez Frías.
00:23:34 Good afternoon, comrades, President Nicolás.
00:23:41 To all of you, my Bolivarian revolutionary heart, Chavez and Antimperialist heart, this
00:24:01 place looks beautiful today.
00:24:08 Well it is my turn now.
00:24:20 It's a real pleasure for all of us to be here.
00:24:23 We come from Barinas.
00:24:28 There is the old Chavez, father of our commander.
00:24:37 Three of his brothers, besides me, Nacho Chavez, Argeni Chavez.
00:24:54 Two of his daughters, María Gabriela and Rosinés.
00:25:12 So Elena sends you a blessing.
00:25:34 And with them, Hugo de los Reyes.
00:25:50 And all generations are here.
00:25:54 All generations must take their example, the example of strength, dedication, and entire
00:26:02 life fighting for freedom and sovereignty of our people.
00:26:10 An example for everyone.
00:26:15 So we were listening to Carola, remembering.
00:26:23 We had that call from Havana with the commander Chavez, one of his stretchmans.
00:26:36 And among all the materials that he was always reading, he got, he took the newspapers, books,
00:26:52 he took a material written by Carola.
00:26:55 And he said to me, "Adan, call her that I want to talk to her."
00:27:01 So we called her.
00:27:02 They didn't know each other, but after that, they were able to talk to each other.
00:27:20 So I believe with Carola, María, Elena, we are here with a mission.
00:27:28 Part of what Carola was saying, the order that was given by Chavez to command that December
00:27:44 2012, this is still living today.
00:27:49 It is not doubt.
00:27:52 Completely alive.
00:27:57 And that is why we are ratifying the candidature to be re-elected our president, Nicolás
00:28:10 Manduro Moros.
00:28:15 So we say, like Chavez, let's vote for Nicolás.
00:28:19 Although any situation on all the imperialist blockade, the financial blockade that is still
00:28:33 harming us, their attempts are still today.
00:28:41 But we resist.
00:28:51 These are very difficult situations.
00:28:53 And others.
00:28:55 But before these situations, these very difficult times that we are living, we continue resisting.
00:29:05 And we must scream with Chavez, let's vote for Nicolás Maduro.
00:29:10 That is our conviction.
00:29:12 That is our decision.
00:29:15 Steady, strong decision to continue with Chavez leading this process of assistance.
00:29:30 The son of Chavez, Nicolás Maduro, taking us on the path of that construction.
00:29:39 Most of the people of this country is convinced about that.
00:29:50 But it is important not to be confident about it.
00:29:59 Now the electoral campaign is coming.
00:30:04 You cannot trust us.
00:30:14 So we can take this survey, which is very serious.
00:30:24 And we are starting this electoral campaign in a very unfair situation.
00:30:37 So 55% of the people think that Nicolás Maduro will be re-elected.
00:30:48 But besides, another very important data.
00:30:56 Last year, that same survey, around September, October of last year, told us that the hard
00:31:05 block to Chavismo was 32%.
00:31:10 And nowadays it is 35%.
00:31:13 A great advance, although it looks like it's not too much.
00:31:23 So this is a very huge strength of this process.
00:31:30 So to have a 35%, 40%, now we are now in the 55% that think that Nicolás Maduro will be
00:31:38 re-elected.
00:31:41 So there is our strong work in the streets, theory and practice, revolutionary to our
00:31:53 consciences, and a great victory.
00:31:58 That must not be just a victory, but a great victory.
00:32:08 And for that, a lot of work to continue adding conscience, to continue showing our people
00:32:17 that there is no other way but the path that Chavez gave us.
00:32:24 So there is not another candidate but Nicolás Maduro.
00:32:30 So let's vote for Nicolás.
00:32:37 So let's vote for Nicolás, that is the one that assures that the people gets even more
00:32:45 power and continues with this socialist construction.
00:32:52 This is the task that we have.
00:32:56 So we need unity, discipline, organization, hard work in the streets with our people.
00:33:07 And that way we are going to get this overwhelming victory.
00:33:12 So long life to Chavez, long life to Nicolás.
00:33:19 Always loyal, never traitors.
00:33:21 [Spanish]
00:33:31 [Spanish]
00:33:51 So thank you for this moment and thanks to Hello Tour English and From the South.
00:33:58 Yes, in this moment there is a [inaudible] and going on, the first congress of the party,
00:34:05 of the Socialist United Party of Venezuela, the ruling party.
00:34:08 And this is one of the main parties of the coalition Frente Patriótico, the patriotic,
00:34:15 the homeland force, which is a coalition of leftist parties.
00:34:20 And the Socialist United Party of Venezuela is the ruling party.
00:34:24 This is the first location, this is the first congress.
00:34:28 And I have to say, this is not only the congress of the leading factions, of the leading branches
00:34:33 of the party, it's also the congress of the youth branch of the party.
00:34:39 And that's one of the main aspects, the main characteristic and feature of this convention.
00:34:44 Because not only the elderly and the ones that are veterans for the, in a way to say,
00:34:51 the veterans of this kind of event are choosing or are ratifying Nicolás Maduro Moros as
00:34:58 the president or as the candidate for the presidency of Venezuela.
00:35:02 Here are also present the youngsters of them came from all the corners of Venezuela to
00:35:10 gather the elderly and also to show their support for Nicolás Maduro Moros.
00:35:15 So this is the fourth for the youngsters and this is the fifth for the main basis of the
00:35:21 Socialist United Party of Venezuela.
00:35:23 I have to say, this is not only one of the main events of the process of the election
00:35:30 and prior to the election, which is the nomination of the candidates, but also this is one of
00:35:35 the ways that the ruling party has to ratify the democracy that is exerting on the people
00:35:42 and the communication with the grassroots basis.
00:35:45 Because it's not only a way to secure a candidate, it's a way to consult the people, consult
00:35:53 the affiliates and to know what is happening to the interior of the party.
00:35:58 Also, we have to say, this nomination of Nicolás Maduro Moros and this ratification is supported
00:36:07 in many reasons.
00:36:08 It's not only just one way to put him in that position of being the candidate.
00:36:13 Because one of the reasons that the people, the affiliates are given for this nomination
00:36:18 is his work or all the work that he has been doing as the president since 2021 in the early
00:36:26 in this term.
00:36:27 So, among the basis or among the reasons is, for example, the Bordedos agreement with the
00:36:35 opposition party and with the opposition group.
00:36:39 So, this is the dialogue that the government is holding with several sectors of the country
00:36:45 that have a different approach to politics and a different approach to the way politics
00:36:52 should be exerted in the country.
00:36:54 In any way, this was one of the main causes for this re-election of the candidates.
00:36:59 And one of the reasons behind this nomination also, there is the Ardbail agreement.
00:37:06 We were covering that back in St. Vincent and the Grenadines in December, because the
00:37:12 president of Venezuela, he was not only representing the will that the people of Venezuela showed
00:37:18 during the referendum, the consecutive referendum during this past December.
00:37:24 Also, the agreement with Guyana or maybe the dialogue with Guyana were one of the main
00:37:31 examples of the Bolivarian diplomacy, one of the main ways that Venezuela is exerting
00:37:36 diplomacy in the continent.
00:37:38 And it is important because this is a territorial dispute with over 150 years.
00:37:45 So, right now Venezuela is trying to solve it through peace and through dialogue with
00:37:51 Venezuela, with Guyana's authorities.
00:37:54 And the fact that the president of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro Moro, was the one that ignited
00:37:59 this accord and got this agreement with St. Vincent and the Grenadines and regional blocs
00:38:06 as Taricon and SILAC, those are one of the main aspects for this nomination of Nicolas
00:38:12 Maduro Moro as the candidate of the Socialist United Party of Venezuela, the ruling party
00:38:17 of Venezuela.
00:38:18 Also, we have to say, other of the main reasons behind this nomination is that Venezuela recovered
00:38:26 and brought back home Alex Saba.
00:38:29 Alex Saba was or is one of the diplomats of Venezuela and he was kidnapped in Tiberias
00:38:37 first, and after that in the U.S. in one of the Miami jails.
00:38:42 And there he was receiving torture.
00:38:45 He was receiving mistreatment.
00:38:47 He was receiving violations of his human rights.
00:38:51 But the government of Venezuela, through dialogue, through negotiation, through international
00:38:56 and public campaigns, recovered Alex Saba and brought him back home.
00:39:01 Not only to his wife, not only to his children, but also to the Venezuelan people that have
00:39:07 this right to him, because Alex Saba was trying to bring medicine and trying to bring food
00:39:14 and other supplies to Venezuela during the harshest years of the U.S. sanctions and the
00:39:20 U.S. blockade against the nation.
00:39:23 So this is one of the key points, the achievement of the Maduro administration during this last
00:39:30 term, and that prompted this nomination once again to be the candidate for the presidency
00:39:35 of Venezuela.
00:39:36 Let's recall that this is one of the main processes, but the nomination has to be ratified
00:39:41 on the grassroots basis of the party, and also it's going to be one of the main contenders
00:39:46 for the July 28 elections.
00:39:49 And as we know, that's going to be a key point today during this term.
00:39:53 Also, let's say the July 28 date was set by the National Electoral Council, not by other
00:40:00 political force in Venezuela, and it's under the date set by the accord in Barbados with
00:40:08 the opposition party.
00:40:10 So this is one of the main points of discussion, and it's one of the main points that brought
00:40:15 the nomination of Nicolas Maduro Morales as the candidate for the ruling party.
00:40:20 Also, let's recall, the ruling party has held over 300,000 assemblies during all these months,
00:40:29 and during--however, Venezuela, you know, is one of the main forces, is the main force,
00:40:35 the main political force in Venezuela, and the grassroots are composed or are made up
00:40:41 by 4,240,000 people.
00:40:46 That's the data, that's the number of people that have been held in these assemblies.
00:40:52 And in all of them, the nomination went for Nicolas Maduro Morales as the candidate for
00:40:58 the ruling party.
00:41:00 So today, the presentation of each one of these assemblies and all the territories,
00:41:06 even those that are so far from Caracas, those that are in really, really faraway places,
00:41:12 all of them came today here.
00:41:14 They arrived this morning, and they continue arriving to this verification of Nicolas Maduro
00:41:20 Morales as the candidate, the nominated candidate for the Socialist United Party of Venezuela.
00:41:27 Also, one of the main aspects--and I wanted to recall that--the modus, the people, the
00:41:33 colorful and the cheerful groups that came here today, because I don't know if you were
00:41:39 aware and following up in our socials, you should, so we were sharing the videos of the
00:41:45 people that were gathering here.
00:41:46 They came with their children, they came with the elderly, the people of all faiths and
00:41:52 all origins in the social sector.
00:41:57 They came here under the banner and under the motto of the unity, and also under the
00:42:01 ideal of nominating Nicolas Maduro Morales as the candidate for the ruling party.
00:42:07 I have to say, also, the support of all the political figures in the country.
00:42:12 Here in the Poliedro de Caracas, which is one of the main sporting venues, with a huge
00:42:19 capacity for people to be gathering in one place.
00:42:22 So there was present also Jorge Rodríguez, who is the president of the National Assembly
00:42:29 of Venezuela.
00:42:30 He was here also showing support for the nomination of Nicolas Maduro Morales as the candidate
00:42:35 of the ruling party for the presidential elections of Venezuela.
00:42:39 Also, the president himself, the incumbent president, he was sharing that he is going
00:42:45 to be here accepting the nomination on his behalf by the grassroots organizations and
00:42:52 the grassroots bases of the Socialist United Party of Venezuela.
00:42:57 And I want to say, not only the youth or the young branch of the Socialist Party was present
00:43:04 here.
00:43:05 Also, as we know, there was many socialist youngsters from other organizations.
00:43:11 And one of the highlights of this gathering is that the women, the women organizations,
00:43:16 the women gatherings, the women branches of the Socialist Party, they came here.
00:43:21 And also all the non-paranormative organizations, that's to say, the LGBTQI+ people in Venezuela,
00:43:29 they were also present here supporting the president Nicolas Maduro Morales.
00:43:34 Let's recall that prior to the chavismo here in Venezuela, the LGBTQI people had no participation
00:43:40 in the political sphere, in the political landscape of the nation.
00:43:45 But today, after the inclusion made by the Socialist Party of Venezuela, the ruling party,
00:43:52 so people can have this participation and this role in the political life of Venezuela.
00:43:59 I have to say, this is one of the main events.
00:44:02 This is one of the main gatherings.
00:44:04 But in every parish, because Venezuela has a parish as one of the demarcations of the
00:44:10 jurisdictions, so in every parish, in every district, in every municipality, and in every
00:44:17 zone, there are debates, there are nominations, there are ways to know and to test, to ponder
00:44:23 the political life, the political hidden in the country.
00:44:27 And they are supporting the nomination of Nicolas Maduro as the next candidate for the
00:44:33 Socialist Party of Venezuela, the Socialist United Party of Venezuela.
00:44:38 Other aspect is that the party and the government have been holding Viva Venezuela, Mi Patria
00:44:44 Querida, which is a mission, and I think the translation, the proper translation for that
00:44:50 is Long Live Venezuela, My Beloved Homeland.
00:44:54 And that is a mission that is encouraging all the creators and all the artistic creators
00:45:00 in the country to not only go and sign by themselves and go and be in a census, they
00:45:07 are going to receive also instruction.
00:45:10 They are going to receive finance.
00:45:13 They are going to receive support, material, infrastructural and financial support from
00:45:19 the government, not only to create, to be painting, singing, dancing, doing theater.
00:45:26 They are also going to receive this support in order for them to learn more about their
00:45:32 craft and to showcase their crafting to the world and to be one of the recipients of Venezuelan
00:45:39 artistry and Venezuelan history and also Venezuelan ideology and idiosyncrasies.
00:45:45 You know, it is important for Venezuelan people to showcase what they are able to do, because
00:45:50 Venezuela has been under heavy sanctions, and those sanctions have been trying to bother
00:45:56 and trying to suffocate the economy of the nation.
00:46:01 And one of the main impacts is the artistic sector, because when Venezuela is just surviving,
00:46:09 Venezuela has been only on the brink of, you know, an economic real crisis.
00:46:14 The resources, the financial resources, the structural resources are going to those most
00:46:21 affected and are going to the survival key points, like food, like water, like energy.
00:46:29 But, you know, when you are under sanctions, when you are under war, you have no time or
00:46:35 resources for culture.
00:46:36 But now the government of Venezuela is trying to improve that, and it's trying to [incompr.]
00:46:43 and the resources that have been taken from the Venezuelan people and the Venezuelan artistic
00:46:48 sector.
00:46:49 So this mission, [incompr.]
00:46:51 my beloved homeland is taking back this time and is taking back these resources for the
00:47:00 Venezuelan people and by the Venezuelan people.
00:47:03 I have to say, here during this convention, this congress, this fifth congress of the
00:47:09 ruling party, the Socialist Party of Venezuela, the United One, is one of the gatherings not
00:47:15 only for political discussions, because as I was saying here, the families were coming
00:47:22 in here, were arriving with their little ones, with the elderly ones.
00:47:27 So it is not just for that kind of convention.
00:47:30 It's not only a political event.
00:47:32 It's also a cultural event.
00:47:35 Here there is a mural ongoing with images of typical signs of Venezuela, the typical
00:47:41 fauna, the flora, and also other cultural signs and points.
00:47:46 And also there was a wall to people go and leave their signs and leave a message for
00:47:54 the president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Mora, and for everyone that is coming here
00:47:59 and needs a firm message, a hope message, and a way to know that the future is in their
00:48:05 hands.
00:48:06 So this is the fifth congress of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela and the fourth
00:48:12 congress for the youth branch of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela also.
00:48:18 And people is inside the Poliero of Caracas, which is one of the main venues.
00:48:24 I have to say is this zone of Caracas is receiving more and more concerts, international concerts.
00:48:31 It's receiving more and more shows.
00:48:34 It's receiving also or hosting more events like, you know, artistic ones, ball ones.
00:48:42 And in this case this is the main event for the United Socialist Party.
00:48:47 As I was saying, people from Monara, people from Garabobo, which is one of the states
00:48:53 here in Venezuela, and Valencia is the capital city of this state.
00:48:58 Also people here from Caracas, from the parishes of Miranda, Chacao.
00:49:02 They were coming from Caricau, also from Charayave.
00:49:08 They were packing this parking lot, and now they are packing the staircases and seats
00:49:16 of the Poliero of Caracas.
00:49:18 They came here by the hundreds to support the nomination of the president, Nicolas Maduro
00:49:25 Moro, as the incumbent president, and also the nominee, the candidate for the ruling
00:49:32 party, the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, for this next election on July 28.
00:49:38 We were having these images.
00:49:40 We were having also the ambience that is living inside.
00:49:44 We know that the people there is gathering, is chanting.
00:49:47 And I wanted to say, because that was one of the main--that was one of the core of the
00:49:53 Venezuelan people, the joy that they display all the time and they showcase all the time.
00:49:59 In this case they were chanting "Vamos, Nico!"
00:50:02 And "Vamos, Nico!" means "Let's go, Nico!" in the short way of saying "Nicolas."
00:50:08 And that shows, I think, their appreciation, the proximity, the closeness they feel with
00:50:14 the president, and also a way to showcase that he is a popular president, not one with
00:50:21 the huge last name.
00:50:23 He's not coming from the richest families.
00:50:26 He's not coming from a silver plate or a silver sword in his mouth.
00:50:31 He's one of the working-class presidents.
00:50:34 He was just a bus driver, and now he's the president of Venezuela.
00:50:39 And it shows that in Venezuela with the truth everything is possible, and everything is
00:50:44 possible if the people choose that to be, if the people have the choices to do that
00:50:51 in their case.
00:50:52 So that is one of the main aspects of today.
00:50:57 They were chanting "Vamos, Nico!"
00:50:59 And they are using the hashtag in all the websites and in all the social media and platforms,
00:51:04 "El Que Vaz, Nicolás."
00:51:06 And I'm going to try to do a translation of that, and that is, the one that goes is
00:51:11 "Nicolás," which is a way to say that the one that is going to the polling stations
00:51:17 and the one that is going to the ballots by the Socialist United Party of Venezuela is
00:51:22 Nicolás Maduro Molles.
00:51:23 Is that a way of reaffirming the will of the people that they have expressed in this, or
00:51:29 expressed in these nominations during this over 300,000 assemblies that were held in
00:51:37 the grassroots bases of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela?
00:51:42 In any case, this is a nomination.
00:51:44 This is one of the most important events during the electoral process, because it's not
00:51:50 only a way to verify the nomination of the president.
00:51:53 It's also a way for them to showcase their support for the ruling party and to appreciate
00:52:00 what is happening in Venezuela during the whole year, during the whole term of Nicolás
00:52:08 Maduro Molles.
00:52:09 And I think that is what we have to appreciate during this event, during this phase of nomination
00:52:16 as of political life here in Venezuela.
00:52:21 I think also one of the main data, the main or the paramount way to know what is going
00:52:31 on here is to know how the management of Nicolás Maduro Molles has been, and how the economy,
00:52:37 how the politics in the country have been performing.
00:52:41 As we know, the Venezuelan economy was or is under heavy sanctions and suffered hyperinflation.
00:52:49 But this year, the past year, and after the pandemic, the Venezuelan economy has been
00:52:55 slowing the inflation, has been containing the inflation.
00:52:59 And I think also one of the main aspects is the return of the private sector and the support
00:53:06 of the private sector to the government of Nicolás Maduro Molles, because there has been
00:53:11 a dialogue.
00:53:12 Recently, the president was present during the MEDEL Expo showcase and the Expo fair
00:53:21 here in Caracas.
00:53:22 And the MEDEL Expo fair was a way for the entrepreneurs and the big companies here in
00:53:29 Venezuela to showcase what they are doing in Venezuela with Venezuelan resources, and
00:53:35 what they have been doing also for the Venezuelan economy, and a way to give their part to support
00:53:42 the people, that in any instance is the one that is receiving the benefits and is the
00:53:47 one that needs the most help during this harsh time of sanctions.
00:53:52 Also, we know during the administration of Nicolás Maduro Molles, there has been defending
00:53:56 the Venezuelan resources.
00:53:58 Recently, an M-2 plane, which is one of the branches of Cumbiasa, an M-2 plane, a Boeing
00:54:05 747, was kidnapped in Argentina and was dismantled in pieces by the Argentinian government to
00:54:12 hand it over to the U.S.
00:54:15 So that was one of the Venezuelan aircraft and airships.
00:54:20 So the president has been denouncing that.
00:54:23 The president also has been holding the Vuelta a la Patria mission, which is coming back
00:54:28 to the homeland mission, that brings back all the Venezuelans that are scattered in
00:54:34 Latin American countries all over the world, and they are coming back home because of the
00:54:39 mistreatment they have been suffering in other countries, and they want to come back and
00:54:44 to be a part of the life here in the country, in the nation.
00:54:49 And they have been stranded in other countries, and now they have the facility of coming back
00:54:55 home during our trip to this mission.
00:54:59 Also, recently the president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Molles, was taking part in
00:55:04 the three-leg summit.
00:55:06 Those who were following us in our socials also and in our channel know that the president
00:55:13 was there and was talking about the need of peace in the region, the need for a stable
00:55:21 region, and how Latin America and the Caribbean could be one of the main, the key points,
00:55:30 you know, actors during the role in the economy, in the worldwide economy and in the worldwide
00:55:37 sphere of the politics.
00:55:40 So those are the main aspects, those are the key points of the management of President
00:55:46 Nicolás Maduro Molles during his term in office and also during the power.
00:55:52 Let's recall that also the president, Nicolás Maduro Molles, had to manage the COVID-19
00:55:58 sanitary crisis in the country, which is not easy, because Venezuela is one of the biggest
00:56:03 South American nations, and with many regions and entry points, the nation was under heavy
00:56:09 sanctions that were preventing the people from receiving the vaccines and medicines
00:56:16 the people needed for sustaining and enduring those harsh times.
00:56:23 And the president of Venezuela found ways and did arrangements for the people to have
00:56:29 the vaccines no matter what.
00:56:31 One of those vaccines--and I have to say, because it touches my heart--came from Cuba,
00:56:36 and it was the Abdala vaccine, one of the main shots created in the Caribbean nation
00:56:42 that was used to immunize the population there and to do the same here in Venezuela with
00:56:47 the people.
00:56:48 Also, Venezuela gathered Sinovac vaccine, and I have to say, those are one of the main
00:56:55 achievements of this administration.
00:56:57 And also, let's recall the solidarity of Venezuela despite the harsh sanctions and despite not
00:57:03 having all the resources.
00:57:06 Let's recall Venezuela held St. Vincent and the Grenadines during the COVID times, mostly
00:57:11 because St. Vincent faced the last of the terrible pleno corruption, which was one of
00:57:18 the terrible passages in the last years for the St. Vincent union.
00:57:22 But Venezuela was there not only with support in spirit, but also with material support
00:57:28 and infrastructure and logistics.
00:57:30 Venezuela was also present during Suriqui's earthquake back in February of 2023.
00:57:37 And let's recall that Venezuela sent the airplanes, and today Venezuela is trying to send help
00:57:42 and to show support for Haiti during this violent and harsh times the Haitian people
00:57:48 is facing during this political crisis and the humanitarian crisis.
00:57:52 And Venezuela has been also showing support for the people in Gaza and condemning the
00:57:57 genocide of the Israeli and Tel Aviv government against the people in Gaza all this time.
00:58:04 So those are one of the main aspects, and I think those are the reasons behind this nomination
00:58:11 as the candidate of the ruling party and the candidate for the patriotic call and the people
00:58:18 in the Socialist United Party of Venezuela.
00:58:21 The people came here, and I was saying that, by the hundreds to show their support for
00:58:27 Nicolás Maduro Moro.
00:58:28 And I think that to show support for Cabezco.
00:58:31 They were speaking all this time about Chavez.
00:58:34 And people in Venezuela, they don't speak about Chavez in the past.
00:58:39 They speak of Chavez in the present tense and in future ways, because they know that
00:58:45 what Chavez left, what Chavez constructed for them is a moral duty, is a legacy, is
00:58:52 a historical duty to defend and to protect, and that is in the hands of Nicolás Maduro
00:58:57 Moro.
00:58:58 So this is one of the main reasons, I think, during the management of Nicolás Maduro Moro
00:59:05 to show why they are nominating him and putting him as the candidate of the ruling party.
00:59:11 Also, many of the opposition parties, like Arepa Digital, the Partido Lápiz, and even
00:59:20 Luis Enes García, which is one of the--who is one of the candidates of the opposition,
00:59:25 has to be acknowledged, and they have acknowledged that the Socialist United Party of Venezuela
00:59:30 is conducting a fair process, a transparent process, during this nomination and also during
00:59:37 the setting of the date by the National Electoral Council for the next presidential election.
00:59:42 The last one was the presidential election of 2021, let's recall that moment.
00:59:48 And like this one, as a member of this one, the candidate was Nicolás Maduro Moro, who
00:59:55 was qualified, and after that he was chosen as the president of the nation.
01:00:00 So this is the main event, the main key point of this nomination.
01:00:07 And those are the reasons behind it.
01:00:11 [Music]
01:00:35 [Music]
01:00:50 >> Good afternoon.
01:01:13 Long life to the country.
01:01:20 Long life to Bolívar.
01:01:22 Long life to Maduro.
01:01:33 It's a pleasure to greet all of you with a lot of affection, my respect and admiration
01:01:42 to all the leaders of our party that are in the streets every day, in every municipality,
01:01:51 in every state of Venezuela.
01:01:56 The president, we have heard today groups of Venezuelans, their expression in the different
01:02:11 stages that we have lived in our country.
01:02:16 Our beloved María León, Adán, José Alejandro, Michelle, and these young people that are
01:02:32 here today with us, with this revolution, and the family of Hugo Chávez, as it has
01:02:47 been.
01:02:48 It's a beautiful day.
01:02:56 This is extraordinary.
01:03:03 This historical summary that has been done by these people, remember the sadness days,
01:03:14 full of death, persecution, missing people, until the moment, the great moments when our
01:03:27 people chose Commander Hugo Chávez as president of the republic.
01:03:38 I always say, and I repeat it here, putting a practical example, how things turned when
01:03:48 Commander Chávez came to power.
01:03:50 In the month of July, our president sent a message to all the bachelor students and said
01:04:02 that all these young people are going to college.
01:04:14 That wasn't, it wasn't that way before, before the Bolivarian revolution.
01:04:19 It was not like that.
01:04:22 Even, there was a moment that people who studied were people with power.
01:04:33 Until Commander Chávez got into power and started to change everything.
01:04:39 They turned it into an objective.
01:04:44 Commander Chávez, stubborn as always, in his beliefs, always continued.
01:04:54 Many warned him that he was on the imperialist target.
01:05:00 And still, he continued, together with his people, all along with his people.
01:05:10 And that December, in 2012, when he came here, he sent a message to the country that we all
01:05:22 remember.
01:05:24 And in previous days, for us, and I'm referring to myself and other partners, there were very
01:05:39 painful days.
01:05:42 And Commander Chávez, in 2003, 2004, he said that he was coming here.
01:05:52 And he was here to lead us.
01:05:58 That formation, integral formation, of Commander Chávez, to all of us, is what keeps today
01:06:12 the Bolivarian revolution standing.
01:06:15 Commander Chávez said, "I learned and I like leadership.
01:06:25 I spent my entire youth in the army with leadership.
01:06:32 And I take very seriously that the real leader has to face his people to be responsible.
01:06:39 When there is most risk and danger, he has to be in the front, not to hide.
01:06:46 He has to continue his people informed.
01:06:51 He has to continue listening to the most difficult truth and to know how to rectify, on time,
01:06:59 everything that can be done.
01:07:02 And this is a magic here.
01:07:04 It is a collective magic."
01:07:08 That message was captured by his brother, Nicolás Maduro.
01:07:17 That's why we have reason to choose Nicolás Maduro.
01:07:22 Mr. President, this party, Chávez Party, but it's also Nicolás Maduro's party, the Party
01:07:33 of Venezuela.
01:07:35 317,107 assemblies in the Italian country.
01:07:43 15,187,000 assemblies in every street of the country.
01:07:53 44,347 in every community.
01:07:58 15,234 in every village, age, in the country.
01:08:11 At least 4,242,000 militants.
01:08:26 And I must say, and I have a lot of respect to every political organization, but this
01:08:35 is something that can only do the party of Commander Chávez.
01:08:40 That was not just an assembly.
01:08:46 There was a debate.
01:08:48 There were proposals, reasons to postulate Mr. President Nicolás Maduro.
01:09:00 And I only have two reasons.
01:09:03 The first one is despite all the adversity, that man has kept peace in our country.
01:09:13 He has kept peace with politics, teaching everyone that he was able to do it, to all
01:09:24 the people that didn't believe in him, defeating oligarchy, not only once, but in different
01:09:33 moments, applying this scheme of leadership.
01:09:36 And the secondly, Mr. President, which is fundamental, he has been able to keep the
01:09:46 unity of the revolutionary army and making politics.
01:09:53 The President has opened the doors to the great social movement.
01:09:59 He has worked in every sector of this country, and he has kept unity.
01:10:07 And some have gone away, we have to admit it, which is very sad.
01:10:16 But we invite them to come back, to join to the Bolivarian revolution, because this is
01:10:24 our project, the project of Commander Chávez.
01:10:27 And that's why we want to continue with peace, to preserve the basis of the Bolivarian project
01:10:40 on Chávez in his expression.
01:10:45 It was very easy to do it.
01:10:50 Even if we had gone far from the original project, we wouldn't have had more than 200
01:10:59 sanctions.
01:11:00 But we continue to be firm by the hand of Nicolás, and we continue fighting to develop
01:11:11 actions to protect the Bolivarian people in the face of a great aggression.
01:11:20 It was not a plan by NASA scientists.
01:11:25 It was a man.
01:11:28 They're all smart.
01:11:31 And they don't know anything.
01:11:35 But we are going to fight with our soul.
01:11:41 But the one who has doesn't care.
01:11:45 And it was an idea of President Nicolás Maduro.
01:11:52 And we had to avoid a lot of barriers to bring vaccines.
01:12:02 And nobody asked, "What party do you belong to?"
01:12:08 You are going to be seen one, two, even five times.
01:12:14 And this is not a lie.
01:12:16 They know it.
01:12:18 All the opposition knows it.
01:12:21 And in the middle of these sanctions, the blockade, the persecution, we have been able
01:12:31 to establish a complex, a very open and complex program of economic recovery without help,
01:12:41 only with soul, spirit, and the people's will.
01:12:46 So with great decisions, assertive decisions, this commander with his authentic leadership,
01:13:00 which is a great support for any country, imposes a sovereign policy with diplomacy
01:13:15 of peace, always face to face.
01:13:22 So the people of Venezuela have seen Nicolás Maduro.
01:13:26 He has the spirit of Hugo Chávez.
01:13:30 Six years, six and a half experience.
01:13:40 And he has seen everyone's face to promote the understanding, the dialogue, the peace
01:13:54 in Venezuela.
01:13:58 Every time, always with the truth, the revolutionary truth of both.
01:14:09 Never in doubt.
01:14:12 The far right believes that we are going to handle, that we are going to surrender.
01:14:18 No.
01:14:19 We are going to have a dialogue.
01:14:24 So this country will continue to be ruled by Chávez.
01:14:34 And to build a collective leadership to represent the five generations of the Bolivarian Republic.
01:14:45 So he calls, knocks doors, in base of recommendations, to get this collective leadership to multiply
01:14:59 in every municipality, in every council, in every street, in every community, a collective
01:15:09 leadership to recover the strength.
01:15:13 Because nobody knows the truth.
01:15:19 The president has achieved the way for collective leadership to conduct politics permanently.
01:15:32 Calling for an upgrade, a constant movement of our historical process.
01:15:43 And he just now launched a dynamic proposal of the seven transformation that our party
01:15:55 must and will participate actively, that is not in the past.
01:16:00 When politicians gather alone with friends and not listen to anybody else, they go backward.
01:16:12 They stay out of place.
01:16:17 To sustain through different mechanisms a permanent solution with the Bolivarian people,
01:16:28 Venezuelan people, with their demands.
01:16:34 So the president constantly says we need to get to the base of the communities, the streets,
01:16:45 to assist with the intermediaries, the people, to take them the information and demand whatever
01:16:58 has to be demanded.
01:17:01 And it's very easy to rule.
01:17:07 Like it could have been in the fourth republic, oil, dollars, maybe $100 that was received
01:17:20 here in Venezuela.
01:17:23 There was a moment that every $100 we got only $1.
01:17:31 Right now we are in $2.
01:17:34 $1 out of $100.
01:17:37 So we have to be magical to do more with less.
01:17:42 And that means to work together, to work in a team.
01:17:53 And Mr. President, yesterday, 11 years that we translated, we moved, Comandante Hugo Chavez,
01:18:07 and there's a memory that is still living today.
01:18:13 So this party left the assembly in peace, and there was not even an incident, not even
01:18:25 one.
01:18:26 Two proposals, elections, and propose our presidential candidate.
01:18:38 And secondly, to call the Congress of our party, because it has to be here today.
01:18:50 Here we are, and here we have special honors, which are the leaders of CAE.
01:19:04 Man, where are you?
01:19:24 So we have this Congress today as the higher level of decision of the party to face our
01:19:35 decisions, because that's the way our government establishes the democratic method of election
01:19:47 of our candidates, which is established in this article that is applying in the constitution,
01:19:55 the Bolivarian Constitution of Venezuela, which is democratic on its basis.
01:20:02 And we have decided that the candidate of the Bolivarian Republic is Nicolás Maduro.
01:20:13 So I ask today, as was asked by our commander Hugo Chavez, from my heart, from this Congress,
01:20:27 to be ratified the decision by the assemblies.
01:20:41 And as a procedure, so everybody here that is agree and postulated our citizen, Nicolás
01:20:54 Maduro Moros, as candidate of the social party of Venezuela and the Bolivarian revolution

01:32:29 To all the oligarchs.
01:32:31 That only has publicity against us.
01:32:37 And they have forbidden to all of us to say our truth.

01:40:11 (Speaking Spanish)
01:40:14 (Speaking Spanish)
01:40:17 (Speaking Spanish)
01:40:20 (Speaking Spanish)
01:40:23 I was informed.
01:40:26 Of the results.
01:40:29 Of the process of consultation.
01:40:32 (Speaking Spanish)
01:40:35 (Speaking Spanish)
01:40:38 Created by commander Chavez.

01:40:50 (Speaking Spanish)
01:40:53 Please raise your hands.
01:40:56 Everyone that took part in that movement.
01:40:59 (Speaking Spanish)

01:41:05 (Speaking Spanish)
01:41:08 So please an applause to all of them.
01:41:11 (Speaking Spanish)
01:41:14 (Speaking Spanish)
01:41:17 (Speaking Spanish)
01:41:20 (speaking in foreign language)
01:41:24 (audience laughing)
01:41:27 (speaking in foreign language)
01:41:51 (speaking in foreign language)
01:41:55 - I was informed, the methodic,
01:42:07 that was called that way by Commander Chavez.
01:42:10 You must remember that name.
01:42:12 Reyes, Reyes.
01:42:15 Among the ones that I can see.
01:42:19 (speaking in foreign language)
01:42:23 You must remember the methodic,
01:42:31 from the top to the bottom,
01:42:34 to console the base,
01:42:37 in its core, and bring it with strength
01:42:42 to the national direction.
01:42:47 It was accomplished, accomplished with the constitution
01:42:51 and the principles of the democracy.
01:42:54 The Social Party, United of Venezuela,
01:42:59 has done a great exercise
01:43:04 of the methodic of the people to take this decision.
01:43:07 And just a few tell this number.
01:43:17 But because it hurts them.
01:43:19 These are the consolidated numbers.
01:43:30 257,215 assemblies of Calles.
01:43:36 (audience applauding)
01:43:40 (speaking in foreign language)
01:43:51 This was announced by Diosdado on a Tuesday,
01:43:53 to the election to be anticipated.
01:43:59 To the next day, with only 24 hours.
01:44:06 We're activated in 257,215 assemblies.
01:44:11 Millions of people, millions of men and women,
01:44:15 compatriots in the neighborhoods, in the communities.
01:44:20 And we have to see their faces.
01:44:28 To the strong forces that we have been building.
01:44:34 (speaking in foreign language)
01:44:37 And later on Friday, with barely 48 hours,
01:44:42 was summoned an assembly.
01:44:44 And there were made 49,137 assemblies,
01:44:53 assemblies in communities,
01:44:56 with all their leaders and work teams.
01:45:02 (speaking in foreign language)
01:45:04 And later on Saturday,
01:45:06 the battle unities gathered,
01:45:20 with 15,334 UBCH.
01:45:24 (audience applauding)
01:45:28 And this was only in three days.
01:45:42 And this way we could listen to the proposals
01:45:52 to make this in the official bulletin board
01:45:57 of 4,000,000 people, 132 compatriots
01:46:06 at the base of the people of Venezuela,
01:46:09 all compatriots of the territories.
01:46:12 And I wrote some ideas.
01:46:22 (speaking in foreign language)
01:46:25 I made a scheme.
01:46:26 And I remember that today, March 24,
01:46:37 we started in the middle of the pandemic.
01:46:43 We were the first country to decree quarantine,
01:46:49 quarantine that the people accomplished
01:46:53 with a great model.
01:46:57 And thanks to the popular power,
01:47:04 we were the first country that used the mask.
01:47:18 Where in the entire world,
01:47:20 nobody was accomplishing with these rules,
01:47:25 we were the first ones.
01:47:27 And we said, everyone is going to protect their lives.
01:47:33 And due to the blockade,
01:47:38 we couldn't bring those masks, clinical masks.
01:47:46 The entire people started creating their own masks.
01:47:51 And they have for every person in the entire country.
01:48:15 Without the power of the people,
01:48:17 the strength of the people,
01:48:18 it would have been impossible to write this story.
01:48:21 So before the decision that the people have taken,
01:48:30 they have ratified this fifth Congress,
01:48:35 Extraordinary Congress of the Social Party
01:48:38 and United of Venezuela.
01:48:39 And this fourth Congress, Extraordinary Congress of Youth.
01:48:45 Just like the youth of Venezuela.
01:48:47 I tell you,
01:48:48 I thought in this decision a lot.
01:48:53 In 2013,
01:49:00 I went to the Canada.
01:49:07 And Chavez gave us an order.
01:49:10 And I saw loyalty to him.
01:49:15 Loyalty to the people.
01:49:17 And we went to the battle.
01:49:20 In a heroic way, we triumphed.
01:49:25 Over the tears and the pain.
01:49:28 The loneliness.
01:49:32 Or the difficult moment that we had to live in 2018.
01:49:42 We came from defeating La Guarimba in the Civil War.
01:49:47 And we want peace.
01:49:53 And you, the people, decided
01:50:02 you wanted me to continue with this battle.
01:50:11 And I assumed that task.
01:50:13 I accepted it.
01:50:15 But this is not just a problem of a man.
01:50:19 Because alone, a man is nobody.
01:50:25 Whatever the name.
01:50:27 Whoever you are.
01:50:30 So I take your words, your generous words,
01:50:37 because we are moved
01:50:40 through love.
01:50:41 We are a family.
01:50:43 If someone asks me, what is Chavismo?
01:50:46 Chavismo is a family full of love for the homeland.
01:50:50 For the Bolivarian movement of the 21st century.
01:50:54 Which is all along with its ideals.
01:50:59 Of every generation.
01:51:00 So this is what we is.
01:51:07 Love for our story, for our history.
01:51:11 But only a man wouldn't be here.
01:51:14 I'm here because of you.
01:51:16 For your strength.
01:51:19 For your wisdom.
01:51:21 I'm here for the people.
01:51:26 And that is why that today, March 16th of this year, 2024,
01:51:31 I accept the presidential candidacy
01:51:36 for the next election in June.
01:51:39 I assume it.
01:51:40 And with the support of the people,
01:51:43 we will go to a new victory.
01:51:46 Of the Bolivarian forces.
01:51:49 And Chavismo.
01:51:51 (crowd cheering)
01:51:54 (singing in foreign language)
01:52:17 (drums beating)
01:52:20 - We only have to see the face
01:52:41 to the battle that we have given.
01:52:45 (speaking in foreign language)
01:52:47 Behind every conspiracy against truth,
01:52:52 always there's been the North American imperialism.
01:52:57 But who is stronger?
01:53:04 The imperialism or the strength of the people?
01:53:07 They placed a puppet in 2019.
01:53:15 2019, 2020.
01:53:16 All up till 2022 and part of 2023.
01:53:25 Do you remember him?
01:53:27 (speaking in foreign language)
01:53:32 (crowd cheering)
01:53:35 And they sabotage the electrical service.
01:53:52 The electrical service.
01:53:53 They tried on April the 30th
01:53:59 an attempt to eliminate me.
01:54:02 In the pandemic,
01:54:05 they brought mercenaries training Colombia
01:54:12 to invade Venezuela.
01:54:13 They tried those puppets.
01:54:21 And behind, there was always them.
01:54:28 They were saying that it was their president.
01:54:33 The same,
01:54:39 always the same behind all these acts.
01:54:45 And that's why I tell them,
01:54:47 you couldn't with your puppets.
01:54:51 And who triumphed?
01:54:54 Guaidó or Maduro?
01:54:57 (speaking in foreign language)
01:55:00 You or the people.
01:55:01 So I call you to reflection.
01:55:06 As Adam was saying, reflections.
01:55:12 Their perversity moves.
01:55:17 Their plans.
01:55:20 The way they subestimated us.
01:55:23 Because they subestimate us.
01:55:27 (speaking in foreign language)
01:55:31 Now,
01:55:35 they have prepared.
01:55:40 With all its God,
01:55:50 blessing us, protecting us.
01:55:55 (speaking in foreign language)
01:55:57 I'm a man of faith.
01:55:59 I'm a man of God.
01:56:01 (speaking in foreign language)
01:56:02 I'm a man of action.
01:56:03 God is with us.
01:56:06 And who against us?
01:56:09 Five conspiracy.
01:56:24 But I'm here.
01:56:25 And they were all trying to eliminate me.
01:56:31 But I'm protected.
01:56:37 For now and forever.
01:56:40 And also our people.
01:56:43 Because the people protects me.
01:56:50 (speaking in foreign language)
01:56:54 And on Monday, I did Maduro Mass program.
01:56:59 (speaking in foreign language)
01:57:03 And I was getting out of Maturin.
01:57:09 There was an intelligence information
01:57:13 that they just captured.
01:57:19 An individual.
01:57:20 And they said that they were going to eliminate me.
01:57:28 But thanks to God,
01:57:35 and thanks to all the organized police,
01:57:40 all the services of the Bolivarian Republic.
01:57:48 (crowd applauding)
01:57:51 You didn't know this.
01:57:56 So we went out and when we landed,
01:58:03 this man was captured, this terrorist.
01:58:08 And he said,
01:58:18 he appointed to an escort that was preparing
01:58:23 actions to attack us, to attack me.
01:58:30 Yes, when I left the streets of Maturin.
01:58:36 But he was captured immediately.
01:58:40 So he spoke.
01:58:46 (speaking in foreign language)
01:58:50 And he said that there were other actions.
01:58:57 And this terrorist that was captured
01:59:01 belongs to a group, to the Causa R group
01:59:07 that does not exist anymore.
01:59:10 (speaking in foreign language)
01:59:14 Unfortunately, this investigation is in advance.
01:59:21 We proved testimonies with all the elements
01:59:31 that said that in Maturin,
01:59:39 an attack for assassinating me was suspected
01:59:43 in conspiracy with the imperialists.
01:59:48 They are criminals.
01:59:55 And there has to be justice in Venezuela.
02:00:00 So I ask you,
02:00:06 (speaking in foreign language)
02:00:09 to continue protecting the peace of our country,
02:00:13 to continue fighting for the peace,
02:00:17 to take care of me whenever I go.
02:00:21 But nobody is going to take me out of the streets
02:00:27 because we are going to the great popular movement
02:00:32 for the great victory next 28th, July 28th.
02:00:37 Nobody's going to take the victory from us.
02:00:41 I count on you.
02:00:45 I count on the people.
02:00:46 If you support me, if you protect me,
02:00:58 if you protect me, just like in 2019,
02:01:03 2023, in 2024, we will triumph again
02:01:18 in the path of truth, in the path of hope,
02:01:23 in the path of patriotism.
02:01:25 (audience applauding)
02:01:28 And we have done, as Diosdado just said.
02:01:33 Applause for him, please.
02:01:37 Great words.
02:01:46 (speaking in foreign language)
02:01:50 (audience applauding)
02:01:58 (audience cheering)
02:02:01 (speaking in foreign language)
02:02:21 We have achieved in the first place
02:02:26 through all these years to accomplish without a word.
02:02:31 We have consolidated the social peace.
02:02:38 There's peace in Venezuela.
02:02:43 The imperialists wanted to do what they're doing in Haiti,
02:02:52 what they have done in Ecuador.
02:02:55 (speaking in foreign language)
02:02:57 But they couldn't.
02:02:58 And we won't let them.
02:03:01 The motto is peace, peace, and more peace.
02:03:10 The community, the communities.
02:03:17 We have events in citizens' security.
02:03:23 And we have the levels of citizens' security,
02:03:28 the highest levels in the last 70 years.
02:03:37 And who have done that?
02:03:41 The people, the police forces.
02:03:53 We have achieved with effort, without own effort,
02:03:58 as I always say, with our heart,
02:04:05 to initiate the path of economic growth,
02:04:10 of economic recovery.
02:04:15 And we started in the middle of a pandemic.
02:04:23 And the end of 2021, 2022.
02:04:25 And that's because of you, for your effort.
02:04:31 We had a growth, a 15.5% of growth.
02:04:39 And we said that this year is going to be superior
02:04:52 to an 8%.
02:04:53 I was told in Guayana that they were not agree with me,
02:05:03 the industry.
02:05:07 And they said that they were not agree
02:05:12 because they said that they believe
02:05:17 that they are going to grow even more.
02:05:19 (speaking in foreign language)
02:05:21 Even a 10%.
02:05:23 We still have to build a new model.
02:05:32 We have achieved in these years.
02:05:47 And now we are producing 97% of food in our homeland.
02:05:52 We used to bring 85% of products from other countries.
02:06:06 But now this year, 2024,
02:06:12 (speaking in foreign language)
02:06:16 we are going to continue improving the quality
02:06:20 and the production of food, of products in Venezuela.
02:06:28 And we have done that with our own effort, with our heart.
02:06:39 So we summoned the National Assembly,
02:06:43 summoning everyone that wants to work,
02:06:47 forgetting, welcoming the consensus,
02:06:55 as Diosdado just said, January, 2022.
02:07:02 And we are moving forward.
02:07:06 (speaking in foreign language)
02:07:10 So we activated cultural houses.
02:07:25 And now since last year,
02:07:36 (speaking in foreign language)
02:07:39 we launched the great missions
02:07:41 for the generation of women for science, culture,
02:07:46 great Venezuela.
02:07:51 (speaking in foreign language)
02:07:59 To rebuild and recover that status.
02:08:05 (speaking in foreign language)
02:08:07 This is a benefit that led to Commander Chavez.
02:08:10 We have developed the most precious
02:08:20 and beautiful legacy of Commander Chavez,
02:08:23 which is the communal power.
02:08:27 (speaking in foreign language)
02:08:32 The popular democracy.
02:08:34 (speaking in foreign language)
02:08:40 So we are launching all these missions.
02:08:50 And now we have in our power,
02:08:51 a very powerful instrument that has formed
02:08:56 the consultation, debate of the people.
02:09:01 (speaking in foreign language)
02:09:03 Which is the seven transformation plan.
02:09:06 The 70.
02:09:09 And we are moving forward to 2030 and even more.
02:09:18 Because this must never depend on a single man.
02:09:24 This is what Commander Chavez used to say.
02:09:29 (speaking in foreign language)
02:09:32 Even in the most difficult times,
02:09:35 Chavez said it and he was right.
02:09:38 (speaking in foreign language)
02:09:42 And he said it to the oligarchy and the imperialism.
02:09:45 They didn't believe in his words.
02:09:52 And he said, "This is not only a man,
02:09:57 "he's an entire people."
02:10:00 Chavez is a people.
02:10:05 Chavez is you, Venezuelan woman.
02:10:14 Chavez is you, Venezuelan man.
02:10:18 Child, young, worker.
02:10:26 And we take his flag today.
02:10:28 Chavez is the people.
02:10:36 Chavez is everything.
02:10:38 And I say, that is not Maduro.
02:10:42 Don't confuse.
02:10:43 Don't underestimate us anymore.
02:10:51 Because this is not just one man task.
02:10:57 (speaking in foreign language)
02:10:58 Here the candidate is not Maduro.
02:11:01 Here the candidate is the people, is the worker.
02:11:06 The people of the municipal parties, the neighborhoods.
02:11:13 And with all these people, we go to the battle.
02:11:16 We go to the victory.
02:11:17 So listen.
02:11:23 (speaking in foreign language)
02:11:26 Listen, oligarchs.
02:11:28 The people united will never be defeated.
02:11:31 Long life to the homeland.
02:11:38 Unity, fight.
02:11:42 And always victory.
02:11:46 Always to the victory.
02:11:50 Thank you very much.
02:11:52 God bless you all.
02:11:53 God bless Venezuela.
02:11:56 God bless the homeland.
02:11:59 (speaking in foreign language)
02:12:06 (upbeat music)
02:12:08 (upbeat music)
02:12:11 (speaking in foreign language)
02:12:16 (upbeat music)
02:12:33 (singing in foreign language)
02:12:37 (upbeat music)
02:12:40 (singing in foreign language)
02:12:44 (upbeat music)
02:12:46 (singing in foreign language)
02:12:50 (upbeat music)
02:12:53 (singing in foreign language)
02:12:56 (upbeat music)
02:12:59 (singing in foreign language)
02:13:03 (upbeat music)
02:13:06 (singing in foreign language)
02:13:10 (upbeat music)
02:13:12 (singing in foreign language)
02:13:16 (upbeat music)
02:13:19 (singing in foreign language)
02:13:23 (upbeat music)
02:13:25 (singing in foreign language)
02:13:30 (upbeat music)
02:13:33 (singing in foreign language)
02:13:37 (upbeat music)
02:13:40 (singing in foreign language)
02:13:44 (upbeat music)
02:13:46 (singing in foreign language)
02:14:12 (upbeat music)
02:14:15 (singing in foreign language)
02:14:19 (upbeat music)
02:14:39 (singing in foreign language)
02:14:43 - And we're watching this full of emotion ceremony
02:14:52 as the United Socialist Party of Venezuela
02:14:55 ratified the presidential candidacy
02:14:57 of the incumbent Nicolas Maduro
02:14:59 for the upcoming July 28th presidential elections,
02:15:03 which is a key moment for the country.
02:15:05 Throughout the ceremony,
02:15:06 we saw the different expressions of support
02:15:09 through what they call the five generations
02:15:11 of the Bolivarian Revolution,
02:15:12 from the very founding generations,
02:15:14 the one that fought together with Commander Hugo Chavez,
02:15:17 and little as time move on,
02:15:19 all these different generations
02:15:21 that have been brought up
02:15:23 during the Bolivarian Revolution have come together,
02:15:26 and they continue to bring forward
02:15:29 the legacy of Commander Hugo Chavez,
02:15:31 now through the figure of the President Nicolas Maduro,
02:15:34 officially as of today,
02:15:36 the presidential candidate
02:15:37 for the upcoming presidential elections on July.
02:15:40 Throughout the ceremony,
02:15:42 people expressed their reasons
02:15:43 and the motive they had as a Congress
02:15:47 of the United Socialist Party
02:15:49 to all together in unison to propose,
02:15:53 to ratify the candidacy of Nicolas Maduro
02:15:57 as the presidential candidate for the upcoming elections.
02:16:01 And among many of these reasons
02:16:03 were all his work that has been done
02:16:05 to keep the legacy of Commander Hugo Chavez alive.
02:16:07 If we go back in time,
02:16:09 we recall that it was Commander Hugo Chavez,
02:16:11 the one that called on the Venezuelan people,
02:16:13 on the revolutionary people of Venezuela,
02:16:16 to vote for Nicolas Maduro,
02:16:18 to choose him as president as he knew
02:16:20 he would be the worthy successor
02:16:22 to continue this beautiful work
02:16:24 that is the Bolivarian Revolution of Venezuela.
02:16:27 And as we were talking,
02:16:29 many things that were said,
02:16:32 why he should be the presidential candidate
02:16:33 and no one else is all his work and all his success.
02:16:36 The COVID-19 pandemic was among one of the main topics
02:16:40 on how Venezuela was able to cope
02:16:43 in spite of a blockade,
02:16:44 in spite of criminal sanctions,
02:16:45 in spite of all this
02:16:47 and all the subversive works of the far right,
02:16:51 how they were able to cope with the COVID-19 pandemic
02:16:54 and how they were able to face it and reduce casualties
02:16:58 and make sure that the Venezuelan people
02:16:59 could have a very good living
02:17:01 following this terrible pandemic,
02:17:04 as well as of course the economic revival
02:17:06 after the harsh sanctions
02:17:08 that reduced the gross domestic product of Venezuela
02:17:11 to nothing almost,
02:17:12 how have all their work,
02:17:13 all their plans and all the government strategies
02:17:15 with good governance have been able to revive
02:17:18 the economy of Venezuela.
02:17:19 As of today, we can see that many of their projects
02:17:22 have brought fruit on today's country
02:17:25 that we have as Venezuela.
02:17:27 Also, as Jose Cabello said,
02:17:29 one of his main reasons,
02:17:31 he mentioned two,
02:17:32 but one of his main reasons was peace,
02:17:35 that despite all these assassination attempts
02:17:37 against Nicolás Maduro,
02:17:38 all the invasion attempts,
02:17:40 all the regime change that they have tried to put
02:17:42 from the imperialism and all this,
02:17:44 all the far right groups,
02:17:46 oligarchs and last names, I have to say,
02:17:48 all these have been put here
02:17:51 and how despite all this hard time and the sanctions,
02:17:55 how Nicolás Maduro, through dialogue,
02:17:56 through policies of peace,
02:17:58 has been able to preserve peace in the country
02:18:01 and peace in its foreign relationship,
02:18:03 which is very important as a leadership
02:18:05 which puts in evidence the skills of a leader
02:18:08 that Nicolás Maduro has as president.
02:18:11 Of course, also the social projects
02:18:14 that have been brought in Venezuela
02:18:16 to bring out of poverty many Venezuelans
02:18:19 in the countryside, education, poverty,
02:18:22 all the different things that have been said
02:18:24 in the housing projects also as well
02:18:27 that have not been incredible,
02:18:29 all the performance, all the GDP,
02:18:32 everything that has come forward
02:18:33 and the international solidarity
02:18:35 that has been made from Venezuela to other countries
02:18:38 that have been an example of the legacy
02:18:40 of Commander Hugo Chávez through Nicolás Maduro
02:18:44 and through the future of Venezuela.
02:18:46 Just now, Kovei also said in one point
02:18:48 that in 2050, from here on then,
02:18:51 Venezuela, he was sure that it was going to be ruled
02:18:53 by the people of Chávez,
02:18:55 by the people of Venezuela,
02:18:56 by the revolutionary Bolivarian people
02:18:58 of this South American nation.
