00:00 I'm president of the Helensburg Landcare Group and we're the ground land managers for this site.
00:06 Our main issue is the visitors. Visitors come here and they don't pay respect to the local neighbours.
00:14 They're very noisy, some of them. They even ride motorbikes into the tunnel, which is disrespectful to the neighbours
00:20 as well as to the glowworms who don't like noise.
00:23 They vandalise the tunnel walls with graffiti. They vandalise this sign over here to the point where the original is now
00:32 incapable of being put into the outdoors. That's a replica.
00:37 They leave their rubbish. They don't use the rubbish bins provided out front.
00:44 They just leave their rubbish around or nearby at the car park area.
00:51 Their activities are basically going to lead to a diminution of the glowworm population
01:01 and if it continues at the levels that it's going at the moment, because it's a very highly visited area,
01:07 we may even see the local extinction of the species in this tunnel.
