00:15 I talk with registered dietitian, Cara Harbstreet,
00:18 about some healthy food choices.
00:21 Good morning, Cara, how are you doing?
00:28 - I'm doing well, thanks so much for having me.
00:30 - All right, this is very important,
00:31 and that is to tell us why Nutrition Month
00:34 should be played every month, actually.
00:37 - Well, as a dietitian, I'm going to have a biased opinion,
00:41 but this is one of the most important times of the year.
00:43 We know that we're kicking off National Nutrition Month,
00:45 and I'm teaming up with Sprouts Farmers Market
00:48 because I think healthy eating
00:49 should be both easy and affordable,
00:51 and we're gonna talk all about that this morning.
00:54 - I like that because we're seeing the newest trends
00:56 for National Nutrition Month,
00:58 and that is pretty much making it easy, as you said.
01:02 - Yes, we have a different theme every year,
01:04 but this year it happens to be going beyond the table.
01:07 So that's covering every aspect of eating
01:09 from the farm to the fork,
01:11 and that also includes navigating the grocery store.
01:14 But Sprouts offers a fun, friendly take on grocery shopping.
01:17 They are known for the freshest produce,
01:19 the most delicious produce,
01:20 which you can see on our set here,
01:22 and that's one of my best tips to share.
01:24 If nothing else, just make your plate
01:25 as colorful as possible.
01:27 It is so fun to eat the rainbow.

01:30 I said that every month should be Nutrition Month,
01:33 but why is March so important?
01:36 - Well, March in particular
01:37 is just a really fun time of the year.
01:39 We have tons of produce that's coming into season right now.
01:42 So when you're heading into the store,
01:44 be sure to look for that bright citrus.
01:45 We have our tangelos and mandarins,
01:48 as well as blueberries, blackberries.
01:50 Sprouts offers the freshest peak season produce,
01:52 which is guaranteed to taste the best.
01:54 And of course, that applies to our vegetables as well.
01:57 So look for that asparagus, as well as green cabbage.
02:00 We've also seen artichokes,
02:01 and one of my favorites is the organic baby carrots.
02:04 So again, we're really piling up
02:06 this fresh, flavorful produce
02:08 and putting that at the center of our plate.
02:10 - I like that.
02:11 Okay, you said fresh and delicious.
02:12 So let's talk about some tasty recipes that you could give us.
02:16 - Oh, of course.
02:17 All of this nutrition comes together
02:18 on the plate in the form of a recipe.
02:20 And one of my favorites right now
02:21 are these flavor-packed fajitas.
02:23 So smelling so good on set right now,
02:25 I wish you could taste it too.
02:27 But these are pre-marinated chili chicken thighs,
02:29 which you can find in the deli case at your local Sprouts.
02:33 You can top that with an authentic salsa,
02:35 as well as some of that fresh produce I mentioned earlier.
02:38 So within this dish, you've got that produce,
02:40 as well as quality meats, seasonings, and a sauce.
02:43 And if you're looking for a quicker alternative than this,
02:46 this one's ready in just 30 minutes,
02:47 but you can grab some of those high-quality deli meats
02:50 from the case at Sprouts as well.

02:52 Okay, listen, Cara, I have a big problem of snacking.
02:56 I wanna make sure I start a healthy snacking routine.
02:58 What do you have for me?
03:00 - Well, hey, there is no judgment here,
03:02 but for me, a good snack has a really good crunch factor.
03:05 So from nuts to chips and everything in between,
