01:20 These individuals were swapping weapons between each other so
01:30 that they could take it in turns to attack Bailey.
01:33 They tried to take a photo of him at the scene, but members of the public came and
01:37 screamed and shouted and they left in the two cars.
01:41 Bailey was left severely injured on the floor.
01:45 Police were on the scene within three, four, five minutes, and
01:48 they were able to start trying to save Bailey's life.
01:51 What's haunted me and must have haunted the officers that were present doing
01:55 the CPR was that they captured Bailey's last words before he died.
02:00 He thought he was gonna die, and
02:02 he asked the officers to get a message to his mom to say that he loved her.
02:05 With the help of the public, we started to get names coming through.
02:10 So I'm really, really grateful to the public because they provided
02:13 the names of the people that were involved.
02:15 We found some forensic evidence at the scene which linked us to one of the
02:19 suspects, and then from the CCTV, we were later able to track them and
02:22 identify who was involved.
02:24 We as West Midlands Police are committed to tackling knife crime.
02:27 We're working extremely hard with our partners, with teachers,
02:31 with youth justice services and the health service to try and tackle it.
02:36 We can't tackle it alone, though, and we ask people.
02:38 We're asking the community, family members, and people that might know anyone
02:44 that's getting involved in knife crime or even thinking about carrying knives,
02:47 to report that.
02:50 You can go onto our website and you can do that anonymously.
02:53 That reporting might save somebody's life.
