Take a tour of new designer menswear store at the heart of Sheffield city centre's £480m transformation

Yards Store opened at the corner of Pinstone Street and Charles Street, in Sheffield city centre, on Saturday, March 23.

00:26 We're here at Yard Store with Tim Gardner, the co-owner. Can you tell us a little bit about Yard Store, Tim?

00:32 Yeah, Yard is, in terms of the brand mix that we've got, it's a fusion of outdoor brands with heritage brands.

00:42 And we've seen an opportunity with certain other retailers across the UK, unfortunately no longer around.

00:51 We've got a really nice mix of well established brands such as Carhartt and Patagonia and brands such as Adidas Terex.

01:05 With new emerging brands, so Cappy Design from Korea.

01:12 And we think that it offers Sheffield a brand mix that's probably not been seen before.

01:19 And can you tell me a bit about why you chose to come to Sheffield?

01:22 We always look at the competitive landscape in any new location or prospective new location.

01:30 And we felt that Sheffield was a great opportunity for the brand mix that we've got with Yard.

01:37 And coupled with the regeneration of the city that's been going on, it was perfect for us.

01:45 And it's a great location to location so we're going to grow now over time.

01:50 And the proximity to the great outdoors is also attractive to us.

01:58 So all in all it was a great fit for us.
