00:05 I'm Molly Blackall, I's Global Affairs Correspondent, here in the Kurdistan region of Iraq
00:11 10 years after ISIS began their reign of terror. Over the next two weeks we'll be meeting people
00:17 who are forced to flee their homes, visiting former ISIS territory and looking at the deadly
00:23 explosives they left behind. Iraq is one of the most heavily mined countries in the world. A
00:30 series of protracted conflicts have led to almost a layering effect with different explosives under
00:36 the ground. This minefield here has been around we think since about the 1970s. It was contaminated
00:44 during fighting between the Kurdish forces and the central Iraqi government. Teams here are
00:50 attempting to clear the area so it can be used for an orchard and for homes. You can see around me
00:56 there's little red sticks which indicate that this is an active minefield and you'll be able
01:01 to see someone behind me down on their hands and knees digging up any signals that they find.
