00:00 Hello there, good morning. Welcome to your latest weather forecast from the Met Office.
00:05 Low pressure continues to dominate the weather pattern through today and the next few days
00:10 as well. In fact, this area of low pressure just swirls around the UK, bringing spells
00:14 of rain and heavy showers and blustery winds to many parts. But there will be some brighter
00:18 interludes in between at times too. So, looking at the picture first thing this morning, some
00:23 heavy rain clearing parts of Northern Ireland, some local flooding possible here. Elsewhere,
00:28 a mixture of sunny spells, scattered heavy showers, particularly heavy across eastern
00:33 and northern parts of Scotland with some snow over the higher ground. Through the day, sunny
00:37 spells and blustery showers, some of them contain some hail and some thunder in between
00:43 too. But if you manage to get into some sunshine, it won't feel too bad and temperatures lifting
00:47 generally into the low double figures, 12, 13, locally perhaps 14 Celsius where we manage
00:54 to stay dry. But it will be quite chilly around the coast with a blustery southerly breeze.
01:00 Into the evening time, further showers pushing their way northwards as we move through the
01:04 rest of the day into the early hours and then some longer spells of rain moving into central
01:09 southern parts of England and pushing into parts of Wales too. Some of this could be
01:12 heavy and then later on parts of Northern England, Northern Ireland, Scotland where
01:17 winds fall light, we could see some clear spells and mist and fog patches and even some
01:22 pockets of frost here. Temperatures falling to low single figures below freezing in the
01:27 countryside for parts of Scotland but holding up under the cloud, the wind and the rain
01:31 further south. So parts of England and Wales are wet start to Thursday, perhaps some hail
01:36 snow over parts of the Welsh mountains before this rain pushes further north and then further
01:41 blustery bouts of rain push into central southern parts. The odd rumble of thunder is possible.
01:47 Winds pick up during the day on Thursday, particularly along southern coasts of England.
01:52 Here temperatures 11 or 12 at best, 9 to 11 Celsius further north, best of the sunshine
01:57 perhaps for some western parts of Scotland here. And then as we move into the Easter
02:02 weekend, while low pressure is still dominant, there will be further spells of rain, some
02:07 heavy showers at times, but there is some chance of some longer spells of sunshine developing.
02:13 The details of this still to be firmed up but it could just start to feel a little warmer
02:18 as a result. If you'd like more information on the weather where you are over the coming
