00:00 So I had a look at which of our trips most solo travelers booked onto last year.
00:07 And it's a really big mix. So there were cultural trips in Jordan, Japan and Turkey.
00:13 And then also walking trips on the Amalfi Coast in Italy and in Madeira,
00:18 which is really become a big place for adventure in the last couple of years.
00:23 And then also Cycle Vietnam was very high. So there's almost no trend there.
00:28 It just tells us that people are looking, rabbit-holing through adventure holiday websites
00:34 and saying, "Right, wait a minute. This is the one that's caught my attention. I'm going to go for it."
00:38 According to Voyager Insurance, the top holiday destination for people from the UK
00:43 based on the number of travelers in 2022 was reportedly Spain, France, Italy and Greece.
00:49 Agilisys, a global provider of hospitality software solutions, also reported that this year
00:56 85% of UK travelers had changed holiday plans due to the cost of living crisis.
01:02 In this study, it was found that 44% of UK consumers agreed their leisure spending
01:08 had decreased in the last year, with two in five respondents claiming they had traveled less
01:13 as a personal strategy for tackling the cost of living crisis.
01:17 With this in mind, what do other trends suggest about how else the typical holiday is looking to change?
01:23 People maybe have seen somewhere in a book, in a TV or film or something in their lives
01:29 and they just thought, "I really want to cycle around Cuba," for instance.
01:34 And they don't need to then wait for their other half or their sister to do it with them.
01:38 They can just go for it. And also Three Quarters said it's nice not having to plan around
01:43 other people's annual leave and other people's plans.
01:47 Yeah, well, one of the things, interesting things that people said was that it gives them confidence
01:52 to take more risks generally in life. I think it feels like a bit of a risk, doesn't it?
