00:00Better than yesterday.
00:00I mean, I know that there have been some ups and downs this year.
00:06Talk me through kind of what you've been telling the guys as you ride the roller
00:10coaster that you ride every year, essentially.
00:12Yeah, I think the biggest thing that we talked about a couple weeks ago is
00:17just winning just each day and just having all of your effort and
00:23all of your mental side just on the consistent day.
00:26And whatever the day is, whether we're at practice,
00:29whether we're off day, just making sure that we're just staying consistent,
00:33which is winning today and not looking too much forward or in the past.
00:37And it's really been the biggest thing recently.
00:39It's all about just winning each day and
00:42not looking too much in the future, so it's really the biggest thing.
00:46Kurt said yesterday he needed experienced players to make experienced plays.
00:50And today it was you, Chad, Logan, and Luke all driving in runs.
00:55What does that say about the upperclassmen on this team that you guys
00:58stepped up to take my man?
00:59Yeah, it's all about the team right now, and that's the only thing that matters.
01:02And that was a really good job by those guys and everybody.
01:05Everybody's setting the table, getting on base, and just a great team effort.
01:08And you just gotta keep it going, moving forward, and
01:11you can win a series tomorrow.
01:13Curtis, I mentioned it to coach there.
01:16Luis Rodriguez gives up two runs in the second.
01:18Then he throws three in a third, scoreless.
01:20Was that kind of like a, just kind of a give me up for you guys?
01:24No, that was awesome.
01:25We already knew that he was gonna do that.
01:26I mean, the guy's been just nails all year, doing a really good job with the ball.
01:29And whenever he gave up those two, we knew he'd be fine.
01:32He's been in that position, and he knows exactly what he needs to do.
01:35And we all have the utmost belief in him and trust in him and everybody else, so.
01:41Notice this year, more than in previous years,
01:44there have been mound visits with no coach, whether it's you or
01:47Curtis behind the plate kind of initiating those.
01:50You guys have the green light, essentially, to kind of take control and do that?
01:53Yeah, absolutely.
01:54It's always good to go take that mound visit, give our guy a breath,
01:57just give everybody a breath, get back on the same page.
01:59And we have another six trips, so three of each, so you might as well just use them.
02:04And I think it's really good just for everybody to get to the mound,
02:07to congregate, and take it over, so.
02:09What's your kind of go-to message when you're leading that conversation?
02:12I mean, it depends on the guy, but it just depends who the guy is, honestly.
02:17Sometimes guys need to lighten up, take a deep breath.
02:20But most of the time, I tell them to take a deep breath.
02:24It's nine versus one, so it's really the biggest thing.
02:26Thank you, guys, appreciate it.
