00:12 urging them to act according to the law.

00:15 Luqman told FMT that it was a consumer's right

00:18 to boycott a certain brand or product

00:21 and that others cannot be forced to follow suit.

00:24 Netizens on social media had labeled customers

00:27 at fast food chains like McDonald's and KFC as dogs

00:31 after pictures went viral of such eateries bustling

00:34 with customers during Eid al-Fitr.

00:36 Over the weekend, an individual claimed

00:38 that a group of men had insulted him

00:41 when he went to a McDonald's outlet in Kuantan, Pahang

00:44 with his family.

00:45 One of them also allegedly threatened

00:47 to hit him with a helmet as he was leaving the outlet.

00:50 Five people have been arrested over the incident

00:53 and are being investigated for criminal intimidation

00:55 under Section 506 of the Penal Code,

00:58 which carries a penalty of two years jail,

01:01 a fine, or both upon conviction.

01:03 Luqman reminded Muslims that such extreme behavior

01:06 goes against the teachings of Islam.
