More disruption is on the way for Adelaide train services, with drivers set to walk off the job again tomorrow night, shutting down the network for a second day in a row. Strike action today halted services during the morning rush, with workers at loggerheads within the network’s private operator, over pay and conditions.

00:00Akanksha Gru was on her way to a special event before realising the trains weren't running.
00:08It's my graduation today. I finished my Bachelors of Nursing last year so, yep, but I waited
00:15here for the train, checked the news, okay, there's a disruption so there you go.
00:20She wasn't the only caught out commuter in Adelaide this morning.
00:23Well it's just interrupting my schedule for the day. I'm supposed to be at work now.
00:28Yeah, it is really disturbing.
00:32Yeah, it's a bit inconvenient but we all have the right to take industrial action.
00:38Morning train services were disrupted until 9am, with replacement buses being offered.
00:44The industrial action is due to a pay dispute with private contractor Keolis Downer,
00:49which rejected workers' demands for a 20% pay increase over four years.
00:54With the cost of living crisis that we're all feeling, we think it's reasonable that
00:59members do pursue what is a reasonable pay offer at the end of the day.
01:05It is a little bit frustrating but at the end of the day you can understand why the
01:09drivers and the train drivers and so on are doing it. So hopefully they can get the issue
01:14resolved quickly and not have too much impact on the community.
01:18Keolis Downer says it's currently in negotiation with the RTBU
01:23and it respects the right of workers to take lawful industrial action.
01:27The company says it remains committed to negotiating an agreed outcome.
