00:00 The Baltic Triangle is consistently named as one of the coolest places to live, not just in Liverpool but in the UK.
00:06 But what is it actually like living here? Well, I've got your inside scoop.
00:11 Now, situated at the periphery of the city centre, it's just a short walk into the thick of it which can be dangerous for your wallet.
00:19 On the other hand, not having to pay for a taxi after a night in town is great.
00:25 But you don't actually even have to venture that far to find a number of places for a great night out with plenty of bars and live music venues.
00:31 You can happily have a night on the tiles right here.
00:34 The ongoing gentrification of the area means you might get woken up by the sounds of construction, drilling, hammering and builders shouting at one another means,
00:44 if, like me, you like a lie-in, you might want to keep your windows shut.
00:48 Now, local amenities. There's no medical facilities, library or train stations. However, Liverpool Baltic is expected to open in 2028, linking up the area to the Mersey Rail network.
00:59 The station will include a cycle hub, step-free access and a passenger drop-off area right outside.
01:04 For the time being, though, in terms of public transport, your options are to get the bus or schlep it over to Central Station.
01:12 Whilst you won't find any of the usual suspects, you won't struggle to get decent groceries.
01:17 There's a Go Local, which has all your store cupboard essentials, and Chung Wah, which is an Asian supermarket.
01:23 It's got fresh, frozen, dry ingredients.
01:25 But if you can't be bothered to cook, you're spoilt for choice, too.
01:28 The Baltic market has the biggest selection with around 10 independent street food trades at any given time, showcasing the world throughout their street foods.
01:37 It's also the first box park outside of London here, located in the historic Canning Hall.
01:42 It features a 5,500 square foot external terrace, too, for al fresco dining, featuring eight independent traders from the region for food.
01:51 Having undergone a true renaissance over the past few years, the Baltic Triangle is now a thriving place to live, work and play.
01:58 And I have to say, I think it's pretty cool.
