00:00We've obviously caught up about his Liverpool tenure so far and we mentioned how he's been
00:06hit and miss. He had a few fantastic moments in a Liverpool shirt but he's also been here
00:12or there and he's never quite hit the ground running as they maybe should have done for
00:16that price tag when they brought him in a few seasons ago. Now, in terms of his latest
00:23news transfers, whether it's in or out, what's the latest you can tell us on Darwin Nunez's
00:28situation and how are the fans feeling? How's Arnie Schlott feeling? Is he a player that
00:32he really backs to do well under him in the future?
00:36I think Arnie Schlott publicly will really back his players no matter what. We've seen
00:42that but I think fans are starting to run out of a little bit of patience with Darwin
00:49Nunez, if I'm being honest. He's been at the club two and a half years now, joint record
00:56V, he's shown glimpses but he's never found consistency. Has he improved since he joined
01:06the club in 2022? I'd suggest he hasn't made massive improvement. I think this season he's
01:17had to play a little bit different. Arnie Schlott's more controlled, he doesn't want
01:22the strikers being hilly-bally, running around, he wants everything to be a little bit more
01:28measured. He has improved with his pressing etc. with Nunez when he's had a chance but
01:34he's not first choice and that's a problem. If you're paying all that money for a striker,
01:40you want them to be your first choice, scoring goals every other week, being at the fulcrum
01:46of your team. He scored four goals this season in all competitions, two in the Premier League,
01:51he's had more bookings than he has goals. He's a little bit of a ratter. Liverpool,
02:01I can't see them letting him go, unless a really good offer came in in January. I can't
02:06see them letting him go in the middle of a Premier League title assault, Champions League
02:13starts again soon. Liverpool will be looking to go quite deep in that so I can't see them
02:18letting him go but in the summer, it's going to be something that they're going to have
02:23to think about. Recruitment, you don't always get them right. It's well known that maybe
02:31you look for a two in three ratio and this one, how many signs Liverpool made for big
02:38money and they have worked out. But a couple haven't, Naby Keita was one and as things
02:45stand, you look at a Darwin Nunez thinking, is it ever going to work out? He'll have what,
02:50two years left on his deal. In the summer, do Liverpool cut the losses in the summer
02:57and get a striker who's more suited to Arnaslott's style? It's definitely something to ponder
03:03but yeah, I don't think Arnaslott, he has defended them a fair bit in public when he's
03:10being asked about and which you have to commend. But as I say, he was a fan's favourite and
03:18fans want him to succeed so badly but there's just at the minute, no signs that it's going
03:25to work out for him and Anfield.
