00:00 Texas Rangers starting pitcher Corey Kluber exited Sunday's game against the Rockies after just one inning of work.
00:06 The team announced Kluber was experiencing tightness in the back of his right shoulder.
00:10 He'll be evaluated further on Monday, but I'm joined now by Chris Halleck, who is at the ballpark.
00:16 Chris, what more can you tell us? What did you see?
00:18 Well, there really wasn't much to see on the mound.
00:22 He didn't look like he was, like, favoring anything.
00:25 It just looked like he struggled with his command a little bit.
00:28 And he came out of the inning, you know, 18 pitches, he had to walk.
00:31 And, you know, next thing we know, Joe Palumbo is coming out of the bullpen.
00:35 And, you know, we were waiting for word.
00:38 And, you know, word comes out that he was experiencing tightness in the shoulder in the first few pitches of the outing.
00:43 And, you know, and then he just, it's not a good debut for him.
00:48 Absolutely not.
00:49 If this ends up being a longer term issue, will the Rangers have enough depth to fill that starting rotation?
00:57 Well, they really like Joe Palumbo and they like Colby Allard as well.
01:00 Two young left-handed pitchers that they have, two young prospects.
01:04 These guys are pretty versatile.
01:06 They can either, you know, spot start, you know, go five, six innings.
01:09 And they can also pitch out of the bullpen in one inning, two inning situations as well.
01:13 So they do like both of those young pitchers as well.
01:17 But this obviously is a pretty big blow to the Rangers rotation,
01:20 which was supposed to be the backbone of this team.
01:23 Absolutely. As I was saying, Chris Halleck, thank you so much for the insight from the ballpark.
01:28 Thank you for having me.
01:29 Thank you.
