00:00 Texas Ranger pitcher Corey Kluber is staying in shape while waiting to get back to work.
00:06 Kluber made a pitching mound in his suburban backyard.
00:10 And while he didn't have a catcher to throw to, he did make it work.
00:14 And he even had an audience member, his dog, Hercules.
00:17 Chris, what did you think of when you saw this?
00:20 Well, when the Rangers traded for Corey Kluber, his reputation came along with him.
00:25 His reputation includes two Cy Young Awards and a pretty well-documented work ethic.
00:30 And after getting to see it with my own eyes at a Ranger Spring Training
00:35 and hearing Rangers executives and coaches talk about it, that work ethic is still there.
00:41 And so whenever a video was posted about or showing him working on a portable mound,
00:46 throwing into a net in his yard, it goes along with the reputation of Corey Kluber
00:52 and just having that really good work ethic.
00:56 And Rangers, him along with other Rangers pitchers, are doing everything they can
01:01 to stay ready for the start of the Major League Baseball season whenever that is.
01:05 People are optimistic right now.
01:07 I think the level of optimism has risen in the past few days.
01:10 And hopefully we do get to see baseball sometime.
01:14 Rob Manfred, the commissioner of Major League Baseball, last week in an interview
01:19 or in an email, excuse me, said that he very firmly believes that there is going to be baseball in 2020.
01:27 So, you know, somebody with Corey Kluber's work ethic, you know, the optimism of baseball,
01:32 you add all that together, it's not a big surprise that Corey Kluber is staying ready
01:38 so that whenever they get the all clear that he's going to be ready to go
01:41 and be as ready for the start of the season whenever it finally gets here.
