00:00You're playing your first real competition today.

00:03What is that feeling like, just kind of being back in that competitive mode?

00:06Yeah, it's great.

00:07It's something I told the team today, it's, we set the tone today.

00:10And it's always nice to get out and all off season, you're kind of waiting and

00:15waiting and waiting and you get spring training, you see these guys working and

00:18seeing we're getting the off season and getting spring training.

00:21Now it's time to go.

00:22It's always fun to watch them compete.

00:24So, tomorrow Luke Farrell pitches.

00:29When you look back at what he went through last year,

00:35what goes through your mind?

00:37Man, knowing what he went through before that, honestly is kind of

00:42carrying over to what actually he went through last year as well.

00:47This kid's been through a lot in his life.

00:49And the way he handled it all, and like I said,

00:53you never know some of the things that he was feeling.

00:56Cuz he's just kind of like, you know what, I'm just gonna grin and bear it.

00:58I'm gonna get through this.

01:01I mean, he was dealing with headaches even when he came back.

01:04I felt terrible for him, but it was really cool for

01:08us to bring him back and to see him actually have success.

01:11It meant a lot to him.

01:12It meant a lot to us, honestly, just to watch this kid.

01:16We liked what we saw in spring training last year.

01:18And to actually get a chance to see it at the end after what he went through was

01:21pretty special.

01:22What are you looking at for him as far as a potential role on this team?

01:28The good thing is he can do a lot of different things.

01:30So like I said, he can go one inning, he can go multiple innings.

01:33I think he's actually got the ability to possibly start.

01:36So it's just that there's so many options with him.

01:40His stuff, the way it plays, he could actually be a starter with two pitches.

01:43I know he's adding maybe another pitch to that.

01:47And if he does that, then he could honestly take that step forward to actually

01:51being a legitimate major league starter.

01:53And it's, like I said, his fastball plays up.

02:01He's got some elite characteristics in his pitches, and

02:04we love the flexibility that he brings.
