00:00 Brianna Maranthis and Chris Alec of Sports Illustrated here at the new
00:04 Globe Life Field and we got to talk about Willie Calhoun because he got hit
00:08 straight in the jaw with a 95 mile per hour fastball, broke his jaw. I honestly,
00:14 if that's on my list of top 10 worst injuries, I can't think of much worse
00:19 than that. I'm sure it's extremely painful. A broken jaw, I can't, I can't imagine. I've
00:23 only broken one bone in my body and it was a broken arm so very, very typical.
00:27 Broken jaw, I can't imagine. Obviously, thankfully for Willie, he didn't have to
00:32 have his jaw wired shut. He just had a plate inserted to stabilize the
00:37 fracture which definitely helps. And he'll be re-evaluating in two weeks.
00:42 Yes. But of course, now the Rangers are having to figure out who is a potential
00:46 replacement for him at left field. Who do they got internally? We don't want to
00:50 speculate too much outside of that. Yeah, Nick Sulek is getting the first dibs in
00:55 left field right now. He's been working in center field. He was kind of fighting
01:00 with Danny Santana a little bit for those spots in center field but because
01:03 he's been working out there, they're gonna shift him over to left field, see
01:06 how things work there. Scott Heineman and Adonis Garcia will also get some reps
01:11 probably as they both kind of fight for that fourth outfielder spot on the
01:15 roster. So those two guys will obviously get their opportunities but I think Nick
01:19 Sulek, just because of the value of his bat, they want to have his bat in the
01:23 lineup as much as possible. So I think Nick Sulek is probably the guy that
01:26 they're looking at right now and obviously if things don't work out they
01:29 could look outside but nothing is going that direction right now.
01:33 Well it will definitely be something to watch. Make sure you stay tuned to our website
