00:06 You kind of expect there to be a lack of execution at times, but

00:10 I felt like the intent was there.

00:12 Guys were working on the pitches.

00:14 Some of the counts we actually fell behind were because guys were working on

00:18 the pitches, so I thought everybody kind of, everything looked like it was coming

00:23 out good, attacking the zone, and we had good results.

00:26 >> You have a staggering number of relief candidates.

00:30 >> How are you gonna figure all this out?

00:31 >> We just, honestly, we just gotta, every chance we can evaluate them, we do.

00:36 And it's not always about the results, but it's about what the stuff looks like.

00:41 The good thing is we have a lot of choices to choose from, I guess,

00:46 as far as the stuff goes.

00:47 So guys that can master those things and make the adjustments that they need to,

00:53 it's gonna help us make those decisions a little easier.

00:58 But it's great when you have that kind of competition.

00:59 Hopefully everybody performs well and makes it really hard on us.

01:14 That's kind of a loaded question.

01:16 I've never really, I've only seen him from afar until this year.

01:20 Got a chance to talk to him in the off season.

01:22 Cody Atkinson, our hitting coordinator, was working with him all off season.

01:28 Was sending me videos.

01:29 And once I got a chance to talk to him, see who the person is,

01:33 see what he's working on, I wasn't surprised by the result yesterday.

01:36 Honestly, he's been working really hard all off season on some swing stuff.

01:41 The bat to ball has always been there.

01:45 He's always had a lot of success with the bat.

01:47 But in the big leagues, just lack of opportunity,

01:51 lack of playing time, kind of sporadic.

01:55 I don't think he's ever really.

01:57 Maybe his first year he got a little bit of an opportunity, but not much.

02:00 So he's an intriguing guy cuz I know the things that I've seen him working on.

02:04 It showed yesterday in the first time he got in the game.
