What do you think of Sheffield's Moor Market?

We spoke to shoppers at the Moor Market in Sheffield city centre

00:00Yes, can I ask what do you think of the Moor Market and what are your favourite stalls here?

00:05I think it's quite good. It's a good market, yeah.

00:07It's varied. I think you've got a varied choice of things. Lots of different stalls.

00:11The choice of meat quality is good in the meat stalls. I wouldn't say we've got a favourite stall.

00:18I don't think we have. I think it's a good choice. We've got a good choice.

00:21And, the best coffee in Sheffield is with that little one.

00:25The coffee shop. Oh yeah. As you walk in.

00:28Now can I ask, do you remember Castle Market? Would you have gone to Castle Market?

00:32Yes. And how do you think the two compare?

00:34Well, it was old. Very old. And, for the best bit smelly, it was past its time.

00:43There was a lot of market there. A lot of choice there, but it was falling to bits and bits.

00:52And, as someone who's not actually from Sheffield, I do remember that market.

00:57And, for me, the best thing they did was move it to here. It really, really was.

01:04It's lightened the market, the moor up, basically. Having the market down there.

01:09And, at a time when there's so many units closed along Fargate and down the moor,

01:15it's bringing the football here. And, it's a shame. There's so many empty units everywhere.

01:21They're doing lots of work in Sheffield to improve it along Fargate and what have you.

01:25And, I'm sure it's going to look wonderful. There's so many empty units, it's a worry.

01:34Hiya. What do you think of the moor market? Do you have a favourite stall here?

01:37Yeah. The African stalls. Sorry? The African stalls. Yeah.

01:41And, what do you like about it there? They've got most of the stuff that they've got in Ghana.

01:45So, I can shop here. It's not too far away. Do you know what I mean? Yeah.

01:51So, yeah. I'm happy with the stuff that I get from here. The plantain stuff.

01:58It's food. I don't know if you're interested, but it's a food that they call Ugali.

02:03It's a Kenyan dish. It's a maize dish. And, that's also very good. So, I come for that as well.

02:08So, yeah. It's good. It's good. Not too bad at all.
