00:00 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:03 When you just talk about Scotty and Nelly
00:05 and you working on the mental side of the game,
00:08 how does somebody manage expectations?
00:12 Because it's easier said than done,
00:15 but what are some of the things that you're working on
00:18 besides just being in every single shot?
00:21 It's just one of those things you unfortunately
00:26 have to experience and I would say go through and just do.
00:33 You know what I mean?
00:34 You have to be going through it.
00:35 It's not something that I can sit on the couch over a year
00:39 and be like, oh, today, when I'm out there
00:41 and I'm 300 through whatever, that's when I'll-- no.
00:44 You have to be out there and get off to a good start
00:47 around a Sunday and have a chance to make a charge
00:49 and not get wrapped up in the leaderboard and understand.
00:52 I felt like Bay Hill was a great learning experience for me
00:55 on Sunday because I got off to a great start
00:57 and I think I was like three or four under through nine.
01:01 That's a course.
01:02 I remember that so well.
01:04 I had a great shot into nine about, well, 15 feet
01:07 and happened to look up at the leaderboard
01:09 and I was a couple back and I was in second place.
01:11 And I can easily go shoot two or three under on this back line
01:15 to win this golf tournament.
01:16 And I just had played 10 well and it's about 10, 12 feet
01:21 and I felt like I had to make that putt or just to kind of,
01:23 you can do a minimum going and I missed it.
01:25 And then I felt like I need to start forcing it
01:28 and I played the last eight holes terribly.
01:30 And when you look at the PGA that I won at Southern Hills,
01:36 I was eight back with 10 to go, had absolutely no business
01:39 winning, wasn't looking at leaderboards.
01:41 It was just like, I'm just trying to play each hole
01:43 the best that I can.
01:44 And next thing you know, it just kind of falls in your lap.
01:46 And there's just something to be said for that.
01:50 And I think the more often you get yourself
01:53 in those positions, the more it works out for you,
01:55 but also the more you're able to learn from it, I guess.
