00:04 >> Turns out to me is just watching the Republican Convention,
00:10 and they're spewing this fear, right?
00:15 Like, all you hear Donald Trump and all of them talking about fear,
00:20 we're the ones getting killed, we're the ones getting shot.
00:23 We're the ones that were denied to live in certain communities.
00:29 And all you do is keep hearing about fear.
00:35 It's amazing
00:42 why we keep loving this country, and
00:47 this country does not love us back.
00:49 >> I don't know how anyone can watch those powerful words from Clippers coach
00:52 Doc Rivers and not be affected.
00:55 As Doc made an incredibly thoughtful plea while clearly in pain.
00:59 And while it's great the NBA has so many like Rivers who are willing to put
01:02 themselves out there, I can't help but think that it's really unfair how we
01:06 continue to turn to sports figures for answers when it comes to incidents like
01:10 the police shooting of Jacob Blake.
01:12 As questions are asked like, what are NBA players going to say and do about it?
01:15 Well, I have a question.
01:17 What are we gonna do about it?
01:18 Because that burden shouldn't fall on athletes, it should fall on society.
01:22 We all need to share it.
01:24 We can't keep watching human beings hurting and say that's too bad and
01:27 move on to the next thing.
01:29 Or just put a microphone in someone else's face to see what they think.
01:32 What happened to Blake, and it's happened to so
01:34 many others, shouldn't happen to anyone.
01:38 Everyone should feel just as passionately about that,
01:41 regardless of what they look like.
01:43 And personally, I'm tired of people talking about whether such statements by
01:47 professional athletes are a turn off to viewers or have impacted ratings,
01:51 as if any of that matters more than a person's life.
01:55 So let's do more than share Doc's words, let's share the burden.
