00:00 "I suggest you all try to be as brave as my twin sister.
00:03 That's my plan."
00:04 Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the times
00:09 Missy shone as Sheldon's sister on Young Sheldon,
00:12 and the times Penny took on that role in The Big Bang Theory.
00:14 "I suppose I do think of you as a sister."
00:18 Number 5.
00:19 Missy, pulling a splinter out of Sheldon's finger.
00:22 The twins spend an afternoon home alone after Mary gets a job at the church
00:26 and can't find anyone to watch them.
00:28 It's all going fine until they spot a shadowy figure outside the window.
00:32 But don't worry, Missy's resourceful.
00:35 "Would one of you please get me a towel?"
00:49 Luckily that resourcefulness comes in handy when Sheldon panics over a splinter.
00:53 The siblings end up on a mission to find a pair of tweezers that involves sneaking into
00:57 their parents' bedroom,
00:58 a bottle of whiskey,
01:00 and a needle.
01:01 "I can't do it!"
01:02 "Yes you can!"
01:03 "No I can't!"
01:04 "Just let me get it!"
01:05 "What if you slip and stab me in the eye?"
01:06 "I'm not gonna slip!"
01:07 "Who always wins when we play?"
01:08 "Be right back!"
01:12 Yet it's Missy who has the lightbulb, or red light-up nose moment,
01:16 that saves the day.
01:18 Who knows what might have been if Missy hadn't been there to step up
01:20 in Sheldon's time of need.
01:22 "I guess you could say there were two heroes that day."
01:29 Number 5.
01:30 Penny, giving Sheldon the talk.
01:32 In season 6, Penny dares ask Sheldon the question no one else would.
01:36 "You ever gonna sleep with Amy?"
01:39 "That's awfully personal."
01:42 "We don't ask Sheldon things like that."
01:44 "Maybe you don't, I do.
01:45 What's the deal?"
01:46 When that day finally arrives, he comes to Penny for advice.
01:49 Now, as we know, Sheldon isn't keen on physical contact of any kind
01:54 or discussing emotions, so the fact that he felt comfortable
01:57 talking to Penny about this all is a huge deal.
02:00 Like the new Star Wars drop in Huge.
02:02 Apparently, Missy already taught him about the birds and the bees
02:05 when they were kids.
02:06 "Is it time to have the talk with him?"
02:08 "What talk?"
02:09 "No talk.
02:10 Nobody's talking."
02:11 "If the talk is in regards to human reproduction,
02:15 I already understand how that works."
02:17 "How do you know that?"
02:18 "I told him."
02:19 However, in anticipation of his big night with Amy,
02:22 Penny fills in the details we don't expect a kid to know.
02:25 "Well, I'm gonna stay positive.
02:26 I mean, we talked, I told him what women like,
02:29 and after he stopped giggling, he seemed pretty sure of himself."
02:32 She essentially acts as Sheldon's sisterly Yoda,
02:35 ensuring the Force awakens that night.
02:38 Number 4.
02:39 Missy, hugging Sheldon when he cries.
02:42 No one throws shade quite like a sibling, right?
02:44 Indeed, when Sheldon's bothered by the hum of the refrigerator,
02:48 Missy wastes no time delivering a savage burn.
02:50 "I don't hear nothin'."
02:52 "Me neither."
02:53 "How can you not?
02:54 Wait, I think I hear it."
02:55 "You do?"
02:56 "Yeah, it's coming out of your face."
03:01 Now let's not forget who convinced Sheldon to dismantle the fridge
03:04 in the first place.
03:05 However, when he gets in trouble, she's initially all too happy
03:08 to kick back and enjoy the show.
03:10 "I'm smart.
03:11 And I had a book."
03:12 "Do you still think you're smart?"
03:15 "Yes."
03:16 "I told him not to do it.
03:19 He wouldn't listen."
03:21 Sure, messing with Sheldon is all good fun until it ends in tears.
03:25 So the moment she comforts him with a hug is truly heartwarming.
03:28 "You know if you cry, I can't enjoy your pain."
03:31 We know Sheldon isn't a hugger, so the fact he reciprocates just melts our hearts.
03:36 It's a genuine awe moment, reminding us there's nothing quite like the sibling bond.
03:42 Number 4.
03:43 Penny, rescuing Glenn the battle ostrich
03:45 and some other virtual stuff.
03:48 Penny might not exactly understand what World of Warcraft means to Sheldon,
03:51 but she understands that losing a bunch of virtual possessions
03:54 is a big deal to him.
03:55 "Okay, well anyways, I brought you a day-old cheesecake to cheer you up."
03:59 "Stale pastry is hollow sucker to a man who is bereft of ostrich."
04:03 "Just say thank you."
04:06 "I thought I just did."
04:08 While day-old cheesecake brings him little comfort,
04:11 his other friends get what's at stake and join Sheldon on a mission
04:14 to retrieve the stolen goods.
04:16 Perhaps they've conquered many virtual quests before,
04:18 but real life is not really their forte.
04:20 Luckily, they know someone who has enough street smarts for them all.
04:24 "Tobz Arnecki was mean."
04:26 "Alright, hang on."
04:27 "What are you doing?"
04:29 "I'm gonna show you how we finish a quest in Nebraska."
04:33 Sure, Penny might not get it, but she gets her friend is upset,
04:39 and that's all that matters.
04:40 She certainly got a kick out of watching her save the day.
04:43 "Now give him his stuff back."
04:46 "Okay, we did it!"
04:49 "I said we."
04:52 Number 3.
04:53 Missy, the walkie-talkie.
04:55 Most teens want a space they can make their own and get a bit of privacy.
04:59 However, Sheldon's not most teenagers.
05:02 If there's one thing he doesn't like, it's change.
05:05 So when Missy suggests taking over Georgie's old room once he's moved to the garage,
05:10 Sheldon's not exactly on board.
05:12 "That's a big change.
05:13 I need to think about this."
05:15 "Mom?"
05:16 "Honey, it doesn't make sense.
05:18 You two are getting older."
05:19 "I don't even have hair on my legs yet.
05:21 What's the rush?"
05:22 In fact, he gets quite distressed.
05:24 So they work out a system to keep chatting even after Missy's moved out.
05:28 "What?"
05:29 "Just testing the system."
05:30 "You tested it yesterday."
05:31 "Just because it worked yesterday doesn't mean it's working today."
05:34 "It's working.
05:35 Good night."
05:36 "Good night.
05:37 Sleep tight."
05:38 Sheldon's walkie-talkies come in handy multiple times, much to Sheldon's delight and perhaps
05:43 less to Missy's.
05:44 Still, she's willing to go the extra mile to ease his anxieties, even if it means sacrificing
05:49 a bit of shut-eye, earning her top marks in the sister department.
05:53 "What?"
05:54 "Did you know when people say 'sleep tight,' they're referring to when beds were made of
05:57 ropes, and the tighter the rope, the more comfortable the bed was to sleep on?"
06:01 "Cool."
06:02 "Bye."
06:03 Number three, Penny, helping Sheldon figure out string theory.
06:07 Over the years, Penny and Sheldon form a special bond.
06:11 She becomes more patient with him, and he starts opening up to her.
06:15 So when he freaks out over his next career moves, it's Penny who manages to steer him
06:19 onto the right path.
06:20 "So it's your rebound science."
06:21 "What's that?"
06:24 "Well, not the science you spend the rest of your life with, but the one you use to
06:29 make yourself feel pretty again."
06:32 She lets him vent his frustrations, offers advice, and sits patiently with him as he
06:36 figures out his next steps.
06:38 She might not have a clue what he's talking about, but that doesn't mean she can't impart
06:42 some great advice.
06:43 "People have been stuck on this for decades."
06:45 "What, decades?
06:46 Really?
06:47 It's a string, how hard can it be?
06:48 It's straight, it's in a loop, it gets knotted up with other strings."
06:54 Ultimately, with some support and encouragement, Sheldon has a major breakthrough.
06:59 He'd probably be the last to admit it, but he probably wouldn't have gotten anywhere
07:03 without Penny's help.
07:04 "See?
07:05 How long did that take me?
07:06 I'm a little bit old."
07:07 Number 2.
07:08 Missy, comforting Sheldon about the positives of growing up.
07:11 As we said, Sheldon is not a fan of change.
07:14 So when he discovers a zit, the first sign of puberty, he's thrown into a panic about
07:18 what other changes lie ahead.
07:20 "But a pimple is a sign of puberty, and I'm showing no other indicators.
07:23 No armpit or chest hair, and I've still got a little interest in the opposite sex.
07:26 I barely noticed you're a woman."
07:28 "Thank you."
07:29 Cue those trusty walkie-talkies.
07:31 Although Missy's not initially thrilled at being woken up by Sheldon's pre-teen crisis,
07:36 the kid turned her back on him in his time of need.
07:38 "But we're twins, and we have a special bond, so you can't ignore me in my time of need."
07:43 "Watch me."
07:44 "And I'm scared."
07:45 "Damn it."
07:46 They end up having a late-night heart-to-heart where Sheldon shares what scares him about
07:53 growing up.
07:54 She responds with some sisterly wisdom, pointing out that there's also much to look forward
07:58 to.
07:59 "Sheldon, there has to be stuff you're excited to do."
08:01 "Of course.
08:03 Getting my PhD, winning the Nobel Prize, getting to meet Professor Proton, working with Stephen
08:08 Hawking."
08:09 "Okay, so when you start to get upset, focus on that stuff."
08:12 Thanks to Missy's pep talk, Sheldon begins to embrace his transition into adulthood.
08:17 Number 2.
08:18 Penny.
08:19 Sheldon opens up to her.
08:20 Leonard may be Sheldon's bestie, and Amy his girlfriend, but there's no denying Sheldon
08:25 may be most comfortable around Penny.
08:27 "Sometimes I get annoyed at how close Sheldon and Penny are."
08:31 "They argue all the time.
08:33 They aren't that close."
08:34 "Who's always comforting him when he's upset?"
08:37 "Penny."
08:38 Amy sometimes feels a twinge of jealousy over their bond, so perhaps it's best if she doesn't
08:43 know that Sheldon once revealed his deepest, darkest secret to Penny.
08:46 When Shami hits a rough patch after moving in together, Penny and Leonard step in to
08:50 give them some space from each other.
08:52 While chilling over ice cream, Sheldon opens up to Penny about a childhood trauma that
08:57 sparked a lifelong habit.
08:58 "I saw my father having relations with another woman."
09:02 "Oh, that's awful."
09:03 "I know.
09:04 It's also why I never open a door without knocking three times."
09:08 He also confesses his fear of repeating his parents' mistakes.
09:12 That's some heavy stuff to lay bare.
09:14 Luckily, Penny knows just what to say.
09:16 "Honey, instead of worrying about pain you may cause in the future, how about trying
09:20 to fix the pain you're causing her right now?"
09:23 "I'm sure you're right."
09:26 Before we unveil our top picks, here are a few honorable mentions.
09:30 Missy, teaching Sheldon about politics.
09:33 Her methods may be questionable, but she knows what makes a winner.
09:36 "Hey, I spoke to Nell's sister.
09:38 Find out some interesting stuff."
09:39 "Thanks, but I've decided I don't want to stoop to her level.
09:43 If I can't win on the quality of my ideas, then I'd rather lose with my head held high."
09:47 "That's really stupid, but in case you change your mind."
09:50 Penny, taking Sheldon shopping.
09:53 She uses her expertise to help Sheldon in his time of need.
09:57 "And anything I put on now is only gonna suffer in comparison."
09:59 "This is absurd, I look like a clown."
10:09 Missy, teaching Sheldon to ride a bike.
10:12 Well, she tries to until his ornithophobia gets in the way.
10:15 "Don't let go."
10:16 "I'm letting go."
10:17 "Don't let go."
10:18 "I already let go."
10:19 "You let go?"
10:20 "I let go."
10:21 "I'm doing it."
10:22 "You're doing it!"
10:23 Penny, the napkin.
10:31 It earned her a hug from Sheldon.

10:56 Number 1.
10:57 Missy, reassuring Sheldon before graduation.
11:00 As graduation approaches, Sheldon's excitement about starting college turns into full-blown
11:05 panic.
11:06 To make matters worse, his meltdown gets captured by a news crew.
11:10 "And the other day I couldn't find my safety goggles and I freaked out at school and my
11:13 dad asked, 'Is this how I plan on acting when I get to college?'
11:16 And I said, 'No, but it probably is because even though I'm smart, I'm just a little boy.'"
11:21 "I think we have enough."
11:22 "Cut."
11:23 Later that night, during one of the twins' classic late-night chats, Missy reassures
11:27 Sheldon that he's not the only one who's scared of what the future will bring, but encourages
11:31 him to face it head-on anyway.
11:34 "You're scared?"
11:36 "Yeah."
11:37 "So what do we do?"
11:43 "I guess be scared and do it anyway."
11:47 With her words in mind, Sheldon finds the courage to embrace the next chapter.
11:51 The sweetest moment is when he dedicates his speech to Missy.
11:54 "And it's by their example that I found the courage to move forward into this new and
11:57 exciting chapter of my life.
12:01 Missy, this is for you."
12:07 It's not often Sheldon shows appreciation, but this is basically his way of saying thank
12:12 you.
12:13 The joy on Missy's face is enough to melt anyone's heart.
12:16 "So if any of my fellow graduates are nervous about the future, know that you're not alone.
12:23 I suggest you all try to be as brave as my twin sister.
12:27 That's my plan."
12:28 Sheldon's childhood birthday parties aren't exactly fond memories, thanks largely to Missy's
12:37 savage streak.
12:38 "When I was six, they told me Batman was coming to my party.
12:41 I waited by the door for hours.
12:43 Closest thing to Batman I saw was when a robin flew into the window."
12:46 Now with supportive friends and a loving girlfriend, it's time to make some new and happier memories.
12:52 However, when the festivities start feeling a bit too much, Sheldon hides out in the bathroom.
12:58 Penny checks on him and reassures him that she'll stick by his side no matter where he
13:01 chooses to spend his party.
13:03 She also tells him how much he means to her.
13:06 "There was a time I never would have been friends with someone like you, and now you
13:10 are one of my favorite people.
13:12 So if what you need is to spend your birthday in a bathroom, I'm happy to do it with you."
13:19 Eventually he rejoins the celebrations, and Penny even insists on giving him a birthday
13:23 hug.
13:24 The fact that he hugs her back rather than just stands there awkwardly as he once would
13:28 speaks volumes.
13:29 "You know, I used to hate these hugs.
13:35 Now they're just extremely irritating."
13:38 Which brother-sister bond was your favorite?
13:40 Let us know in the comments.
13:41 "Missy, I'm gonna go get my nails done.
13:42 Do you wanna come?"
13:43 "God yes.
13:44 Thanks."
13:45 "You're welcome."
13:46 Do you agree with our picks?

14:01 "I'm gonna go get my nails done.
