00:00Hey, what's up y'all? It's your girl Glow Rilla aka Big Glow and this is The Breakdown.
00:18I had already met Grizz like maybe a month or two before that song came about.
00:24And we was like, okay, we got to get something together.
00:27We had, we didn't start on the check. And so that was actually the first song me and Grizz did together.
00:33Actually, I had, you know, Grizz did a lot of put it on the flow beat and I had remixed it.
00:38So, but that wasn't really me working with him.
00:41But Yeah Glow was the first time I actually worked with him.
00:44And so he got another song on my project, this on Everything Gets Fine.
00:48And there's some like, it's like for some reason he from Atlanta, but he know the chemistry of Memphis.
00:53Like I didn't tell him I wanted that beat for Yeah Glow. He just presented it to me.
00:57Like he was like, I know this you who I want on this beat.
01:00And so that's how that came about. Then the other song that we got, he was playing beats for me in the studio.
01:07And I was like, Ooh, like the beat, the song called NMO.
01:12Like it's one of my favorite songs about the project.
01:14And it's just such a Memphis gangster, like groovy type of beat.
01:19And that's what I told him. I said, I want some groovy gangster shit that you just get in your car, hop in and ride and smoke too.
01:25And he did that and that's how this song came about.
01:38The beat was just hard. The beat was hard.
01:41When I first heard it, it was just like automatic go.
01:46I wouldn't know how to describe a Memphis beat, but I'm just going to say with the bass and the drums, like the tempo,
01:51like we got a certain tempo and drum that we use and nobody else get it like how we get it.
01:59You know, when you have such a good beat, the song is just going to come along.
02:03Like, I feel like if you got a good beat, you could damn near say anything on the song and it'd be good.
02:08But if you got a good beat and the lyrics are good too, then that's what makes the hit what it is.
02:15And so, yeah, it was just the chemistry behind the production and me being from Memphis,
02:22that being a Memphis beat, you had a sample from the bangers and the run up get done up.
02:28And so like all that was just, everything was on point.
02:39Um, I just feel like at that time I was overthinking a lot.
02:44Um, yeah. And you know, like I just wanted like, I wanted my highest confidence.
02:51You know what I'm saying? I wanted the most confident at the time and I was just overthinking a lot.
02:55And yeah, yeah, it was most definitely a confidence booster for myself.
03:00And, you know, me just talking to myself and boosting myself up.
03:05I had started on the song one day, you know what I'm saying?
03:09Uh, in the studio, we creating, um, came up with the first half of the song.
03:14I sit on it and then the next day I came back, this and I came with the second verse.
03:18So it was like, I was playing, I was constantly, constantly playing the song over and over and over.
03:23And I'm like, okay, the first, the first one, I was just like regular popping my shit on my tough shit,
03:31but I'm like, okay, this one, I'm going to talk to my shit for, you know, like I said,
03:36I feel like they had me fucked up the last three months before I dropped this song.
03:39And so I'm like, okay, I'm going to talk about how I feel.
03:43And so when, cause a lot of people was like, where glow, really?
03:47Where glow really? Cause I hadn't dropped.
03:49And so that's when, that's where the big low, where you been at, where I'm working hard.
03:53Like I been working, I might ain't been posting none on the internet, but I ain't went nowhere.
03:57I'm still working. And so, um, yeah, then, you know, I was telling the truth.
04:02I got M&Ms in my garage and then like the overthinker part was my favorite part because like I said,
04:07I'm a bad overthinker. I overthink a lot.
04:10And so I made sure I wanted to tell myself, like, don't overthink.
04:15Like that whole verse was exactly how I was feeling,
04:20how people made me feel like the last three months of 2023.
04:24And so I'm like, I'm just going to pop my shit. And like, cause I didn't say nothing.
04:27I wasn't reacting to nothing on the internet. And so I'm like, okay,
04:30I'm just going to, this whole verse is going to be about how I feel.
04:34The motivation I got from when I first blew up, it was okay.
04:39I got to pick a career and you know what I'm saying? And start on it.
04:44You know what I'm saying? And find out a way to make it out.
04:47And right now the similarities is when I made Yeah Glow,
04:51I feel like it was like a reboot or rebranding myself because I had kind of
04:56like got lost in my, in my thoughts.
04:58And so like I'm back in the same mode that I was in when I first was trying to
05:02make it because now I'm a hundred percent grinding and like, I'm like, okay,
05:06now I can't take no breaks. Like I was thinking I needed a break,
05:10but now I'm straight on them breaks. I don't want no more breaks.
05:22I'm always in competition with myself.
05:27Like I never wanted to go in the studio and make a song that ain't better than
05:30the song that I already made. Like, so yeah, I'm, I'm my biggest competitor.
05:34And so like anytime I make a song,
05:36I'm not trying to make a song better than him or them.
05:40I'm trying to make a song better than my last song, you know what I'm saying?
05:43Trying to make something bigger than that.
05:45So it be my own self I'm in competition with. My confidence is good,
05:49but like, I'm always thinking I can do better.
05:51Like, and I feel like that's how you gotta be like,
05:54cause last year when I just felt too much, like I was the shit,
05:57I didn't even know I got comfortable when I did get comfortable.
06:00I didn't think I was getting comfortable, but I sleep did like certain stuff.
06:04I'll be like, I don't really got to do that. You know what I'm saying?
06:07But now I'm just like, it's always something I can do better.
06:11Like, you know what I'm saying? It's, it's always a,
06:15another level for me to go like I'm that bitch for sure, but I can be better.
06:18Um, I'm like obsessed with her and my own music.
06:21Like I'm a big fan of myself.
06:23Like, I don't know if that's a cocky thing or what,
06:27but I'm a big fan of myself.
06:28And so like I listened to my songs too much and sometimes I can listen to them
06:33too much where I don't like them no more. Like, believe it or not.
06:36Um, we yell glow. I was like right before it was finna drop.
06:40I was like, I think I should change the first verse. Like, I don't know.
06:44I think I was too slow on the second verse.
06:45So like I listened to myself too much and I need, really need to get out of it.
06:49But yeah, I'm just such a big fan of myself.
06:51And I always listened to my music a lot. And so like her and yeah, glow,
06:56like I was addicted to it. I couldn't stop listening to it.
06:58And so I start overthinking about it. Like, hold on,
07:01this could be changed and everybody was like, nah, it's good. Leave it alone.
07:04Just stop listening to it. You think it's too hard.
07:06The way I remain humble is like, it can all be gone in a blink of an eye.
07:12Nothing is forever. You know what I'm saying?
07:14So that's where the humbleness come in because you can't be too cocky.
07:19You know, I might be a little cocky, but I'm more humble than I am cocky.
07:23Because like I say, at the end of the day, not the day gotta end.
07:27I'm not finna say that, but at the end of the day, it can all be gone in a blink of an eye.
07:31You could be this person today and tomorrow, everything could go downhill.
07:34And so you just gotta be humble at all times.
07:41So when I said they hate a bitch, but they stole the flow, like they be hating hard,
08:05but they really love me at the same time because they doing what I'm doing.
08:10But they hate, but they don't really hate me. They love me.
08:31So last year, I had always wanted a G-Wagon, a G-Wagon truck.
08:36Got my G-Wagon truck.
08:38God Ahead got me the Maybach for my birthday.
08:41And so, yeah, that's how the Maybach came.
08:44And that's how I got M&Ms in my garage.
08:48So Young, Wealthy, and Ratchet.
08:50That's who me and my girls is, you know what I'm saying?
08:54That's our name. That's what we go by.
08:56Young, Wealthy, Y-W-R.
08:58And we young, we wealthy, we ratchet, you know what I'm saying?
09:01And when I say ratchet, like I ain't even just talking about ratchet ratchet.
09:05Like the ghetto type of ratchet, you feel me?
09:08I just really feel like I'm a product of the hood.
09:13And bitches look at me for motivation because they saw me,
09:17literally, my rise to the top.
09:20Like they watched it with me, step by step.
09:36So when I said Curbin on Curbin, I ain't never, like, nobody told me in the studio that I said it wrong at the time.
09:53Like nobody said it.
09:55And so I'm like, well, maybe because I was in there with some people, my people, and that's how they see it.
10:00They from Memphis.
10:02And so it wasn't until I posted the first snippet on Instagram and people started going crazy,
10:08talking about where the R come from.
10:10But I didn't think I said it wrong.
10:12Like I didn't force it.
10:13I literally just thought that was the word.
10:15And when everybody got to talking about it, I'm like, I didn't know I said it wrong.
10:22Like, I didn't know my accent came through on that word, but they like it.
10:27So it all worked together for the good.
10:33Me and Gotti came up with the treatment for the video.
10:41Most of it.
10:43And when I was talking to him about it, I'm just like, when I do this video, I want to talk to a lot of me's.
10:48I want to be talking to myself.
10:50You know, older versions of me's.
10:52And so we came up with the idea of me when I was working at the fast food, the jail scene.
11:02Some of the scenes I came up with, it was real life.
11:07Like me working in the drive-thru.
11:10And then when I was giving the money to the little girls.
11:13It was just, I wanted that to happen to me when I was younger.
11:16So that came with that.
11:19The jail scene, I never really been to jail for a long time.
11:23I went to jail for one day.
11:25And so that was just something like, I thought that would be a cool scene.
11:29Me talking to myself from a jail cell.
11:31Because I was like, I'd go eat some jail food.
11:35And so we had to incorporate the jail scene.
11:38And then the part where I was washing the car.
11:41I never washed the car.
11:43Worked at washing cars.
11:45I washed my mama's car before.
11:46But it was just like, you know, I said the M&M's in my garage.
11:50And so I had to have another me right there.
11:53So yeah, that's where me washing the car came about.
11:56It's really just me looking back on my older self.
12:00Encouraging myself.
12:17The fact that people look at me as motivation.
12:20I feel like, I feel great.
12:24Sometimes I don't know how to accept it.
12:26But I feel good that I can, in a way, minister to other people with my testimony.
12:32When I first started hearing the mashups, I was excited about it.
12:35Because they were putting on all these iconic, legendary beats.
12:38And they was all sounding good.
12:41I'm like, dang, y'all done put them on about 20 beats.
12:43And all of them sound good.
12:45So the song might just be good.
12:47And the lyrics just good.
12:48The cadence, the flow.
12:50It was just tens all across the board.
12:52The song was for myself.
12:54And how everybody else took it.
12:57And made it for them, too.
12:59They made it ten times better.
13:01So I'm glad everybody else got a chance to, you know, get to.
13:06The song is full of affirmations for myself.
13:09But I'm glad the other people got to be able to make it for them, too.
13:13Oh, well, yeah, I can say I'm proud of everybody that put into the record.
13:20And it's a great song.
13:22It's a hit.
13:23And I'm proud.
13:24You know what I'm saying?
13:25And this song is going to get bigger.
13:28Run up on Big Glo, you won't outbid your SV on the flow.
13:31Big Carvin here like Mayweather.
13:33Toolah come through and blow a hole.
13:34Got millions out that rap shit.
13:36They hate a bitch, but they stole the flow.
13:38Yeah, boy.
13:40They stole the flow.
13:42Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
